There's new hoopla over the cover photo on the front of BabyTalk

magazine:

Some breast feeding mothers are being called "lactivists":

I don't think a mother and baby should have to go to the bathroom

in a restaurant but I do think there are ways of doing it discreetly

and I wish more of the mothers would take advantage of a receiving

blanket or something so that others don't have it "thrown in their faces".

What about mothers in a crowd with perhaps young teenage boys,

overamped with hormones to begin with?

I just think SOME nursing mothers use it as an excuse to "flaunt" and

that is inappropriate.

I've seen mothers who you KNEW were breastfeeding, but there was

nothing visible.

I think they exist... I personally (albeit several years ago) saw one.

So yes, they probably are rare.

I guess I'm being an old biddy... but I have a problem with some

mothers. There just seems to be an overall feeling of "I and my baby

are the center of the universe" and heck with the rest of ya.

Sigh.

Better that than the ones who don't care, right?

You can do it discretely in public, baby blankets cover just about everything...........

It is better to feed baby, not let it get hungry-or have the poor mother with involuntary reflex have a wet shirt in public!
