i note that agnes & moverguy had multiple accounts here, although i never came across them i have seen it done on other forums & cause all sorts of mayhem as i believe the above people have done here

when a forum is small its easy for admin to notice as all our IP addresses are visible to them & the problem can be stamped out quickly, not so easy here

my questions are

have you fallen for it & how did it make you feel

what do you think of people who do this

It's called being a "sock puppet", and in my mind, it's deceitful. Why would a person feel the need to have multiple personalities unless they were being untruthful about their "real" self? Or unless they intended on stirring the pot and KNEW they would probably be banned and wanted to assure themselves of another door or window to slip through when they got the boot.

Nope, I have no patience or tolerance for this sort of behavior. Be yourself, be real, otherwise, I've got no time for you. (Although some are probably saying, "Is THAT all I have to do??!!")

I am way too old to play or tolerate these games. Paula/Agnes was very transparent because she has such an ummmm unique writing style. If you feel the need for more than one persona on a forum, chances are you are not genuine and therefore, I really don't want to waste my time talking to you. I think in these cases, it was to prove to admin they could do it.

There has only ever been one dual personality allowed on here and that was our christmas special bunny antics. The rest have been fodder. I guess people will do it, and it is up to us to decide how we will take it. I certainly won't respect anyone who has to play games like that.

Good heavens....I have enough problems just being ME.....I couldn't cope with carrying around an 'alter ego' or whatever they call it:)

In the guinea pig website, one of our staff has an alter ego...posing as a guinea pig who is Mayor of Looneytown...a virtual community where other piggies and small critters can visit. Only the other staff know that Mayor Harry is one of the moderators..but it is all in fun.

yes and that is in good fun. Chonsi has posed as the easter bunny, santa, elf and smurfette ok not the latter but anyway she came in and posted good festive fun in FG and it was so darn entertaining.

What possible reason could someone want to be two or more people on a forum apart from to cause mischief or use it as a means to regain access to a forum they have been banned from?

Woppy, if a person is banned, it depends-usually the Ip address is banned too. But I have noticed that some can come on and visit-no posting allowed, but I know some cannot access any page of FG.

I was surprised when someone this morning said moverguy and chipt beef were one and the same-I didn't know that.

From my time as a IRCop on various IRC networks, It can be quite easy to spoof an IP Addy or use a proxy.

isn't there actual programming you can download off the net for this? Not to mention you can post from 2 different computers ie home and office.

The easiest way to do it is to ask your isp to re-issue you an IP addy, most of the time, on broadband, your IP gets changed every 12 hours or so. On dial up, it usually changes every time U go online.

There is also a command you can issue at the command prompt to make your IP server re-allocate you an IP addy.

Funny as this is,I know the board they live in.I was there for a while and it is how i got too be here.But the/these nut jobs live close too me and i started asking questions of people that i know from same town,at my gym, about the things i ran into in that forum.And they seemed too know alot about her,told me some very strange things about her business practices,and the way she has treated people.Seems too be why she only has Friends online.Was told even her family is not really fond of her.

it's a small town,so not alot happens with out being noticed.But be sure this is a very bad person with nothing but ill intent I'm told.And know that she reads this forum daily and reports in too her forum.Ans claims too have a id here.
