Wal-Mart announced that they will soon be offering customers a new discount item: Wal-Mart's own brand of wine. The world's largest retail chain is teaming up with E&J Gallo Winery of California, to produce the spirits at an affordable price, in the $2-5 range.
Wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to throw a bottle of Wal-Mart brand into their shopping carts, but "there is a market for cheap wine",said Kathy Micken, professor of marketing. She said: "But the right name is important."
Customer surveys were conducted to determine the most attractive name for the Wal-Mart brand. The top surveyed names in order of popularity are:
10. Chateau Traileur Parc
9. White Trashfindel
8. Big Red Gulp
7. World Championship Riesling
6. NASCARbernet
5. Chef Boyardeaux
4. Peanut Noir
3. I Can't Believe It's Not Vinegar!
2. Grape Expectations
1. Nasti Spumante
The beauty of Wal-Mart wine is that it can be served with either white meat (Possum) or red meat (Squirrel).

Actually, I have been looking for a good cheap wine. Not so much in the $2 - $5 range, as the last time I bought something that cheap it literally tasted like wood and everything shy of smooth. :yh_sick
As of now I prefer Sutter Home....
it runs about $10 - $15....
but I am deffinetly open to any suggestions, staying below the $20 range, as im afraid I cant just go out and buy $80 bottles of wine at a whim.

K, do you get Bully Hill where you are? I ask only because I am not exactually sure how wide the market is. I am not a wine drinker, but Rick drinks it alot. He likes the reds...a couple of his favorites in that brand are Growers Red, and Love My Goat. Both under $8.

Which one, there are lots.... a quick Google suggests somewhere between
GBP53 and GBP80 the case ('bout 4 fifty to 6 fifty the bottle, so it's not dear).

20 dollars is about 11 quid; for that price, there must be lots and lots of choices!

They'd probably offer it in 40 ounce bottles or convenient 12 ounce cans.

Im sorry I have taken so long to respond to you, I apologize.
I am unfamiliar with Bully Hill, although as you may have noticed I am unfamiliar with alot of what I call affordable wines. I will, however, buy a bottle of Bully hill if I happen to see it. Thank you for the suggeston.

Perhaps instead of stickers they can hand out little nip bottles of the "wine of the day".Sure would make waiting in that long line at the cash reggy alot more fun.
Then again the door greeters might be tempted too nip a little, that would be too funny.
