I renewed my vehicle licence at the DVLA website and it's so easy!

You need only complete your details and pay the fee. All other details, current MOT and insurance etc. is checked by the DVLA. The licence is sent though the post within just a few days.

Perhaps this has been on offer for a while and I didn't notice but I certainly won't be usng any other method in future, it's brilliant! :-6

I was so glad to find out we could renew our license this way too. I hate going to the DMV and standing in line.

Isn't it just? Like I said to Betty earlier, it saves the hassle of trying to find all the relevant documentation. I'm usually a slave to my habitual way of doing things and I'm so glad I tried a new way of doing this....I know it's only a small thing but I'm still delighted :-6

Anything to avoid line ups is a darn good thing.

Actually I just wanted to avoid the grouchy old lady and her million and one questions, who works at our DMV.

When everything is better centralised, and more and more of our details are

held by the government on their computer systems, lots of things will suddenly

become much, much easier. Earnings records would allow automatic taxation;

criminalisation of using cash or barter, etc. would be helpful, too (all spending

could be tracked, and the government could even allocate us points, such as

in the carbon-saving scheme mooted recently, or send us special offers); our

other personal details ought to be held too, for the sake of completeness.

ANPR systems can see where we go, and make sure we don't speed on the

way there. All sorts of things. Wonderful!

Doesn't bother me either theia.

I applied for my Car Tax on Tuesday night, also my state pension, new recycle box from the District Council and I do the majority of my banking and bill paying on line.

I also do online shopping from time to time although I haven't got round to doing my weekly shop yet via Tesco or Sainsburys.....mind you...I might just give it a try tonight.

I've been flat hunting online and looked at mortgage offers for later on.....going to rent for 6 months.
