O. K. guys, I got to thinking about this when I read some responses to another thread.

BE HONEST: Has your libido decreased as you've gotten older? Is sex an integral part of your current life? Do you care if you ever have sex again?

At it like rabbits for the first couple, then it becomes kind of mundane, somehow.
Hmm, rabbits never change.....................:wah:

Arnold, that was the quickest reply I've ever seen!:wah:

What I find is that I have to put in *more* conscious effort to get things 'started'. I have to remind myself how much fun it is!

I also want to continue seeing myself as a sexual person. That in itself is motivation to get things going :guitarist

Before now I had a total lack of interest in having a sexual relationship, was mostly studying and going to school. But recently have had a huge increase in my interest in sex. I'm 45. And the man is 53. He is very very ......I don't now how to write it, he goes and goes. And then he can go again. So in this case, a man's age has nothing to do with his appetite for sex. I can say this is for sure.:-4

I'll answer this, Floppy :p

I LOVE 'giving' but have never been a big fan of 'getting'. In fact, my passion for giving has only increased the longer I'm married to my husband. Giving is actually foreplay for me as well as him. It is a part of every sexual encounter with my husband and I wouldn't have it any other way. I enjoy it tremendously.

What can I say? It works for me.

Getting? It's never been my favorite sexual activity. I honestly think that it's difficult for me to be the focus of the action. I'm much more comfortable the other way around.

Did I answer your question, Flops? :p

Who's next?

Helefra, that's so interesting -- 30 years old.

Were you glad you waited until that time? If you had to do it over again, would you do the same thing?

Helefra, thanks for sharing that.

I was 22 years old when I 'did it'. I wanted to know what all the fuss was about!

It wasn't very good. I think a lot of it had to do with choosing the wrong person for my first time. I had dated this guy for three weeks in my last year of college.

I guess you could say that I was ready for it but the relationship was not.

The good news is it's been an improvement ever since :-6

When I first started work, one of the older draughtsmen told me that if you put a marble in a box everytime you had sex before you married, and then took one out everytime you had sex after you were married, there would be some marbles in the box when you died.

As for 46 year old me? - still capable of delivering the groceries at 138 beats per minute when the opportunity presents itself ;) :D

Being a private person, I usually don't talk about things like this. However, I must just say, that we don't "do-it"!:wah:

But I'm happy to say that we do make "love"! :-4

Maybe we've slowed down some now, but it's still almost as good it ever was! :)

Cher...to answer your original question.....NO, YES and YES!

Sex is such a wonderful part of life that I always hate to hear of people who always loved it and are now lessening in their interest.

A key component of that sentence is "who always loved it." I've known women and men who never really LIKED sex and are only too willing to stop and blame it on age, etc. We're not all born with the same sexual drive; and for those who don't enjoy it, middle/later years might be a good time to stop.

But for those who aren't willing to let go of the sexual experiences of life, a reputable ob/gyn will be able to help suggest remedies for lessened libido!

Well I'm still in my 20's so I'd hope I haven't lost any drive! Haha, however, my 25 year-old boyfriend of 3 years was a virgin when we met and has never been overly into it....he likes it and will do it often, but I don't get the feeling that he needs it. Maybe it's that nasty catholic guilt creeping up on him everytime? It can be kind of distressing when he doesn't seem interested... :(

Ho hum!
