You may be impressed to know that bumble bees collect nectar because they get drunk on it.

Problem is when they get back to the hives, if they're too pi$$ed, they're not allowed in. And if they persist, they have their legs bitten off. Whenever you see a bumble bee about its business, try and count how many legs it has got. It could be legless.

Ah! I hadn't heard that one... the little darlings do drop lots of "bombs" though, especially in the Spring, after they've been cooped up for a while...
