Let me introduce you to Liam Crabtree. He is our adopted step-grandson. He was born in Kazycstan two and a half years ago.

i dont mean this to be contriversial marie but why do you call him your step grandson rather than just your grandson?
i say this as my daughters have just recently had a new brother :-4 by law he would be a step brother but we just see him as a brother

Good point. I do not know. Maybe because the relationship is so far removed. Liam's mom is the former wife of my husband's step-son..from his second marriage. My husband has nothing to do with his step son, but stays in contact with the guys ex wife! This could be a plot from a soap opera.
