Hey tip number 2, if they issue a bowling shirt... sew sequins on it, you will look right smart out there on the lanes

buck up sweetie you never know you may find yourself to be an eloquent bowler with lovely fluffy style and the nails will do just fine.... besides if your nails are too long to fit in those finger holes you may want to reconsider your choice of recreational sports.

That's easy Flop, just find a ball "without" holes! :p

As far as talking to strangers, after your first Strike, or Gutter ball, which ever occurs first, that will be the Ice Breaker that will get the conversations rolling (excuse the pun) along!

Floppy you will have a blast I have bowled on many leagues and have had more fun bowling then I would have ever thought.. enjoy yourself.. aim for that center pin and bingo a strike..:-6

Lots of support here, Flopstock! I like the sequin suggestion, especially. Just remember that everyone there has been a beginner, too, and they'll all have suggestions.
