He has just informed me that he is filing a motion to get the case re-tried. That means he has enough faith in the case that he thinks he can win a second trial. What blew me away? He said he will re-try the case for FREE. Our $25,000 lawyer is going to do this pro-bono. I am weak with relief.

This is great news BR. :D He must think it's a slam dunk case if he's doing it pro bono.

Thanks, guys, but I'm not getting my hopes TOO high until the judge grants the re-trial. He doesn't have to, but if it is up to the same judge we had the original trial in front of, then I have NO doubt he'll grant the motion.

Also, Steve (the lawyer) has been talking to the appeals lawyer and the appeals lawyer is going to get a subpoena for the dead guys clothing to do gunshot residue tests on them. If he can prove the guy fired a gun, the entire case falls apart.

Wow, what a roller-coaster this has been. And still is....Just keep keeping your fingers crossed, PLEASE!! Hopefully soon, this is a subject we don't ever have to talk about again. :yh_pray :yh_pray

That's at least half the battle, now you don't have to stress over the lawyer fees. Has Steve said or recommended anything about posting bond for Bullet? Many of us are willing to donate some cash to help get him out.
I so appreciate that Snooze. We won't know anything about bond until the sentencing date. (June 28th) I'll have to figure out one spot to put the $$ because we've got a lot of biker family asking where to send money to, also. Any idea how to go about that??? I'm clueless about such things.

Seems like I'm clueless about a lot of things lately. :yh_blush

This seems so much like asking for charity. I hate being a beggar. I've always paid my own way. I don't know if I can do this....

I think it's much easier for most people to give help than to ask for it. I can understand how you feel, BR. But hope you will feel able to accept the support of whatever kind, offered by your friends.

Its not charity BR its a way for people to let you know that they believe in you and bullet and want to help..

they probably feel as helpless as you do and feel this is aqway to do something..

Great News BR...... None of you know this... The reason I was able to "buy" my business in Georgia was because my dear friend ( originally a landscape client) made me an unsecured loan of 30,000.00. When my business failed..I couldnt keep making ny payments to her. My pride was destroyed. I went to her and told her the situation. She said " I loaned you that money because I believe in you, and I love you. It is money I can easily live without. It enabled you to have a life experience. I dont care if you pay it back, or not. I do realize however, that that option is not possible for you to live with. So whatever.. when ever......... Heres the happy ending.. Now that Im back in Virginia,,, I have agreed to maintain her property, as I did before. Now, when I bill her the money is going towards my debt. Money is a complicated and powerful commodity. It can feel good to get some.. It can feel even better to give some. It can represent power... it can represent love. The best money that changes hands is given cheerfully and received with grace. There is always a learning experience involved in all financial transactions. It is pretty much a law of the universe that todays receiver will one day be tomorrows giver... Not necessarily in paper and coin. Gee.. BR kind of like the way youve given here.. for so long.. Well, I guess that kind of sums it up. Can you live with the love $$$ Baby???

BR, Excellent news I wondered why he wouldn't do it again "Pro Bono". He seem like a decent Lawyer ;) which in todays world is flippin amazing.

On setting up an account for people to send money you can do it many ways. If your embarassed to tell people they can just send it to you or get a P.O. Box so it goes to a secure place. Or do the Pay Pal route which would enable people to send money from all over the world. Or go to your bank and have then set up a fund account for you they do it all the time. Don't be embarassed people want to donate to you and Bullet let them and get that man of yours out of that cell..

Question: If the judge does order a re-trial will you have to post bond? or would he get out automatically since its a re-trial? :o

Our lawyer was VERY good. I cannot fault him for what the jury decided. He was brilliant in the courtroom. He called me Monday after we turned Matt over to the cops and said he'd been up all weekend, cracked and upset that it went the way it did.

I guess I'll set up a paypal account, but I don't know how to do that.

If the judge grants a re-trial, it is at his discretion whether or not to grant a bond. Most llikely he would grant the bond if he grants the re-trial. But I'm still not holding my breath for anything. No getting my hopes up sky-high again.

Wait, wait....I got it. You just hit the "Send Money" tab and it asks for an email address. The one I used was my dad's and mine old business address, which is dnlhomes@yahoo.com

I think that's it....am I right??!?! Goddam I'm so confused. Plus I just took my nightly dose of happy drugs, so I'm a bit loopy now.
