A story (cross-post)

I thought maybe this might get buried in its' other location, so I'm
putting it here, too.
I was on my morning walk, the pathway where this happened is narrowed
with a lot of overgrowth on both sides (city hasn't been after it in a while)
and so not much room to "get by" if you need to. Coming down the path
towards me was a lady walking her "pit bull". A very fit, muscular looking
"pit bull". He was a little excited, and she only had one of those shoulder
harnesses (which I don't recommend, btw) and so they were coming "at
me" at pretty good speed. BUT... this dog's ENTIRE body language was
NOTHING but LOVE. So I held my hands out and said "Hi, Sweetness"
and the dog immediately turned to mush and the owner's jaw dropped.
I feel very, very sure she had never experienced anything remotely
close to that kind of reaction from anyone she came upon while walking
her "pit bull". He LEANED against my legs and turned his head up
smiling at me and out and out begging me to pet him. Then I asked
him "Would mom let you have a cookie?" and the mom again was
totally aghast... she said "Oh he likes cookies" and then her jaw dropped
again when I hand this huge mouth and powerful jaws a tiny cookie.
Which he took ever so gently from my hand.
There's a good "pit bull" story for you, all.
