Monday November 22 the jury that convicted Scott Peterson returns to court to deliberate on his punishment. Should he get the Death penalty or life in prison?

Life in prison seems like it would be a never ending hell for him, locked away from freedom forever. Freedom that he so much wanted that "they say" he killed his wife and unborn son for it.

The death penaly would "end" his torment quickly. :-5

It was premeditated. It was evil. Save society from him and his lifelong retirement in jail. He should be taken out in a boat and dropped off with some cement shoes.

I always think death is too good for people who commit murder, but then you have to think how people can get out of jail when they have people supporting them and looking for some way to get them off.

Mistakes can always be made and what if in years to come after he's dead something turns up to prove him innocent.

on 11-24, yesterday, geragos filed with the CAL. Supreme Court to overthrow Judge Delucci's ruling on penalty phase...he has asked for entirely different jury and venue. i am not certain there is even precedent for such a motion. and would be stunned if it were granted.

Death is too quick and easy. Put him in the general population; he won't last long ;) Noone deserves protective custody.

the purpose of protective custody is to save the institution liability...if he were killed the prison would face lawsuits. prisons (and jails) have a mandate of "care, custody and control". and owe the inmate protection. he was not sentenced to death by 'shank'. i know many wish scott punished, i among them. but even life without possibility of parole is more horrible than any of us can comprehend. his life will be very difficult and he will not go to general population for years. respectfully, ladycop...and thankyou Peg for your nice welcome in my "introduction" :)

While at one time I favored the death penalty, I have rethought it and come to the conclusion that for some people, life without any chance of parole is more fittting and a really better punishment. Scott Peterson in my view, is one of these people.

He gave Laci and Conner no choice in whether they lived or died... I personally think that LIPWOP is the correct choice here..he will live knowing that he will never be a free man again...and he will have to live every second of that day knowing that he has no one to blame but himself for his situation....the only other possibility would be to wrap him in a tarp, and drop him in the San Francisco Bay while he was still breathing... after all it was good enough for his wife and son

We don't have the luxury of the death penalty in the uk unfortunatly.

And i personaly don't think there should be any half measures, if a murderer/terrorist has been convicted of murder and setenced to death then the sentence should be carried out.

If they has been tried by their peers & the sentence is then overturned what is the point of the legal system?

As for Scott Peterson, i say let him have the freedom he so craved by murdering his wife & unborn child and carry out the sentence.

If Scott with gets the DP his only hope is a pardon from President George Bush (who signed the laci and Conner Bill) or Gov. Arnold Schwartzenegger and Maria Shriver will kick his butt if he even thinks it.

will we be permitted to hear the penalty phase comments from family members , or again have to rely on the talking heads?

I'm wondering since there weren't any camera's in the courtroom, do you think they will be allowed in the PENALTY PHASE..!!

If nothing else maybe a AUDIO FEED..!! I think they will be gut wrenching comments from the family members.. :-1
