Not sure this discussion fits here, but could not think of another place to put it. OK, sometimes when I just sit and think, my brain takes me places that are rather interesting. So, I was thinking of that book, about the 5 people we meet in heaven. So, I thought, what if we could pick 5 people we cold meet, in the great beyond. Who would they be?

For me, aside from the obvious (to some) answer of my parents, I would like to meet my older brother..for the first time. Unfortunatly his brief stay on this earth occured years before I was born. I'd like to meet John Lennon, if only to tell him I liked his music. And my mother in law..for the same reason as my brother, we've never met.

Jesus

My father, who I still think of lots.

My baby I lost before it was born.

My brother-in-law, Mahlon. (He was murdered, but I got to the hospital as he was dying-I was in the other room waiting for the doctors who worked very hard to save him from multiple stab wounds, and I heard Mahlon call goodby to me. He called me by name. I will never forget it, five minutes later the doctors came out and I told them I already knew.)

John. Someone I loved very much, and died before his time.

I too can go along with that. It is a most interesting way to travel on the path one has chosen.

I'm only going to list one:

Zoltan Lahjos Mihala

Perfect health, never drank, smoked, worked out like crazy, and was an expert at knife-throwing. He was also my best friend about 10 years ago.

While at work one day he was spending his lunch hour throwing knives (as he always did), bent over to retreive one, and dropped dead on the spot. No one has ever been able to tell us why. 31 years old.

My Auntie Win, my favourite aunt from childhood who killed herself in her sixties

I'm hard pressed to narrow the list to five. One of them will be Mahatma Ghandi and that will be a real thrill.

Pinky wrote: Crikey...sorry BR. I know a Zoltan, he`s a cool guy.

Mine would be:

Oma (My dutch nan)

My Grandad

My cousin Grant (skidded ona diesel spill on his bike and died)

Samuel Pepys

Anne Boleyn

The last two always fascinated me!

Oh Pink I went to the castle where miss Anne B grew up, Hever Castle it was an incredible feeling. History about her facinates me as well, I can't imagine she was guilty of everything they said she was. As for Mr Pepys I have walked Pepys street many a time whilst in England and I have to check with the experts about the cemetary and church as to why it is connected to him... cool. In Hever Castle I got to see some of his journals in the book shelf.

Ok my 5

my grandpa Joe, I barely remember him but I would love to hear all about his migration from Hungary to Canada...

Gread Grandfather Frank Orr who migrated here from Ireland he was a cool looking cowboy when dressed in his wooly sheep chaps and cowboy hat...

Grandma Mini, who was an american woman working the chow lines for the cowboys

Albert Einstien just to say hear him talk about all his failures surely he had some right.

Ben Franklin, imagine how impressed he would be when I talked to him about things like trips to the moon, microwave ovens, the net, etc... wow

I've always loved Benjamin Franklin. Such a brilliant and witty man.

In fact, one of my life's mantras comes from him:

"I like to live with lowered expectations. That way, I'm rarely disappointed and often impressed."
