Bird/cat antics

Anybody ever seen anything like this?

On my walk this a.m., I spied a cat sitting in front of his door, in

a shaft of sunlight, just chillin'. I hear this bluejay SCREECH and I

look and darned if it isn't walking along the roofline, dropping things

(or trying to!) on the cat's head!! I wasn't close enough to see what

the things were, sticks or pebbles or something but seriously trying

to make this cat MOVE. I watched for quite a while. Now, I've seen

jays and other birds try to "dive bomb" a cat... but never this!

Oh I wish I could have seen that, Val. How funny!!! I've never heard of anything like it. That must have been very entertaining! How did the cat react?

Well, a couple of things didn't hit their mark, and the cat looked at stuff

falling, but he was basically still other than a couple ear flicks and a

tiny twitch of the very tip of his tail!

Beautiful big orange tabby with a white "pinafore" too!

I can just picture it: The cat sitting there thinking "If this bird thinks I'm gonna move for HIM, he's nuts!!"

Animals are getting smarter all the time. People don't give them enough credit for their intelligence. A bird, using tools. Think about it. Pretty cool, I think.
