Are you a dog trainer?

Yesterday morning, on my walk, coming down the path towards me is a

man with a youngish (year old maybe) beagle on a leash... barely. Beagle

is all OVER the place, and the man is barking orders at him "Clifford, NO"

"Clifford, COME HERE" and such, trying to reel the dog in and being

totally ignored.

As they get closer, "Clifford" sees me and turns into Wiggles the Pup.

So he comes up and I start petting him and stroking his ears and then

(Since I know his name already LOL) I say "Clifford, ask Daddy if you

can have a cookie" and the guy kinda laughs a little and says "Sure,

he likes treats". So I start to get them out of my pocket and Clifford

starts his bouncing around, more yelling from the guy... then, I take

the treat, lift it up over his nose and back a little, say ONCE "Clifford

SIT" and BINK... little butt goes down, perfect sit, eats his cookie and

looks up at me... well, I thought the guys eyes might pop out of his

head! ;) He asks if I'm a dog trainer... and I say "Just amateur" but it

was pretty darn funny!

:)

You should have told him you speak "dog" fluently, Val! That would have been an opportunity to me, to have a new client. I still do the occasional training session when someone gets referred to me, but it's a rare occurrence. You know...I charged $65 an hour for my services, maybe you should consider going into the business yourself!!
