Very early one morning, Peter knocked on God's door.

"Forgive me Lord, I know this is your day of rest, but I feel there is something you'd better know. A monk is about to play a game of golf, instead of carrying out Holy Orders. Furious, God is out of bed in a second, and peers over a cloud. Sure enough, there is Brother Dominic teeing up.

"This calls for severe punishment!" Roars God.

"Indeed, Lord, indeed."

Brother Doninic can't believe his luck when he gets a hole in one. Peter scratches his head.

"You're going to punish him for playing golf when he should be taking Holy Orders, right?"

"Absolutely." Counters God, "The punishment must fit the crime."

Peter scratches his head again as every consecquetive ball is a hole in one.

"Forgive me Lord, but I don't understand. Nobody has ever done that in their life."

God smiles as Father Dominic starts running round in circles screaming.

"What day is it, Peter"

"Sunday, Lord. He should be in chapel."

"What time is it, Peter?"

"4.45am. Why?"

"How many people do you see on the golf course, Peter?"

"None Lord, not one."

"Who can he tell, and who'd believe him?" asks God with a smile.
