If memory serves, Vietnamese and other Asian countries do not place much value on girl babies. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I cannot abide with the idea of selling anyone, let alone a baby. That is despicable. An offering by the parents-to-be is a different matter. But selling someone isn't much different to concept of owning someone.
