Going batty!

A couple of vampire bats living in a belfry go in search for cattle to suck their blood. After a couple of hours, one of them returns empty handed, whereas half-an-hour later the second one returns, his face covered in blood, and settles down exhausted.
"Where've you been?" Asks the other one.
"I don't feel too good - I don't want to talk about it." He replies, but it's no good. Looking at the blood on his mouth, the other one keeps pestering him.
"Alright, follow me." He replies, as the fly off together. Eventually they come to a ranch.
"See that building?"
"Yeah, yeah!"
"See the barn?"
"Yeah, yeah!"
"See the hawthorn tree on the right?"
"Yeah, what about it?"
"I DIDN'T see it, now let's go home!"
