Hi,
My name is Nitin. I am a graduate student at University of
Illinois at Chicago (UIC). I am conducting a few minutes
short survey on "Patterns in UserIDs" for my research project.
We want to study patterns in usernames or userIDs created
by people when they register on different websites. I would
be really thankful if you could participate in this short survey.
The link is:
cs.uic.edu/~survey/piu
I can assure you that this is not a hack or a spam. If you have
any doubts, you can also find the above survey link at the
Department of Computer Science's research page
cs.uic.edu/CSweb/public/research.php?audience=public&label=Research
Thanks,
Nitin Jindal

If you want to get anywhere in this forum, you have to become a friend. That's my piece of friendly advice in your shell-like. otherwise, you are simply another circular through the letterbox, straight into the (recyclable) bin.

User ID not password -- I thought of password too though
He/she is talking about your nicknames that you use that is always public anyway. Give the person a break (damn).
I always thought people used what they like to portray themselves as on somewhat of a supreme scale, in my opinion. whether it be their personality, Image, or anything they like to think of as being higher than just an average name in the world. That being said,I think, that you would have to be in tune with ones personal life on an individual bases to understand why they chose such a unique User ID(in my opinion). Interesting hypothesis -- very difficult -- but interesting. I have to say good luck with that one....your in for a treat.

The survey asks for user ID, and personal info-you don't have to give it-and the websites you visit. I did take the survey, but didn't include all the info since I think they asked for too much info. Maybe if they restructured the survey and introduced themselves, it wouldn't seem so threatening.

Why does everyone associate someone being gullible as a bad charoacteristic?
If there were no liars in the world gullible wouldnt exist.....so shouldnt the liar be the one being made fun of as opposed to the one who puts their trust in others as a direct result of kindness?
?????hmmm?????
