Crocodile kills humanitarian professor ....this story truly affected me, a good man who had endured so much, who grabbed life by the throat in late middle age, and determined to go to Africa to help those who needed his skills. i hope heaven holds a special place for him. :yh_flower

Wow. How heartbreaking! AS a member of the ONE Campaign, I feel it takes a very special and dedicated person to deal with the frustrations of the HIV epidemic in Africa.

Dr. Root is a true hero in every sense of the word and I hope hislife will inspire others to fight the AIDS epidemic in Africa. What a wonderful soul. Im sure he does have a very special place in Heaven and I can tell he has a very special place in your heart, LC.

Sorry for the deep sadness you feel. My prayers are with you while you grieve. Here is a Daily Devotional Message I received today through email. I think it helps:

PRECIOUS IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD IS THE DEATH

OF HIS SAINTS.

( PSALM 116:5 *NKJV )

We all experience the death of one of our loved one's

while we are here on Earth. Therefore we may take comfort

in knowing that they are now with God. For it is written that

when we die; THE DUST RETURNS TO THE GROUND IT

CAME FROM, AND THE SPIRIT RETURNS TO GOD WHO

GAVE IT. ( ECCLESIASTES 12:7 )

So take comfort in knowing you will see them

again, for it isn't the end of them but only the beginning!

The beginning of a much better life where; HE WILL WIPE

AWAY EVERY TEAR FROM THEIR EYES. THERE WILL

BE NO MORE DEATH OR MOURNING OR CRYING OR

PAIN, FOR THE OLD ORDER OF THINGS HAS PASSED

AWAY. ( REVELATION 21:4 )

Thankyou...i did not know the gentleman, but in reading his story i felt his death diminishes all of us. he deserved a peaceful death when it was his time. but then perhaps the world at large may never had heard of him except for the horror of his death. *sad*
