Why SHOULD your government pay compensation to people injured in a foreign land by the actions of a foreign terrorist group?

OK, injured IN the UK, considering the so called ‘welfare state’ I can at least follow in terms of logic in that you have a thing called the criminal injuries compensation scheme, but overseas events? Do you really want your already overtaxed population to shell out even MORE to support your nanny state and the irresponsible acts of its inmates?

Actually the advice isn’t as crazy as it sounds. Many terrorists have substantial amounts of money, especially in banks in ‘London-istan’, and so legal action that saw an award could also result in gaining access to these funds to enable payout to be achieved.

There is more to this story than as presented. The actual letter sent form the government ministry also included advice to seek redress from the government of the country where the attack took place.

It looks to me more and more as if the British people are becoming too dependent on the ‘welfare state’ and a willingness to blame anyone else other than themselves when things go wrong and let’s face it, anyone who today goes to a mostly islamic country for a vacation needs their heads examining.
