I am in a Life Drawing class at school as part of the requirements for my degree in graphic art. The teacher is really great, but I am not very good at sketching. And compared to other students, I am not good at all. But I am still in it and trying. The teacher is a happily married guy, who I think is trying to flirt with me. If he isn't, then he does not realize what he does. But I don't mind. He's a good guy and teacher. Monday night he asked me if I am married. And then said "Oh that was inappropriate", in a kidding way. I said that no, I am divorced. He does a lot of other things too. I don't think it's my imagination either. He accidentally touches me a lot. And last night I swear he touched my rear when he was standing behind me talking to me about my sketch. (it is a terrible sketch too) But I like him too much to say anything. WE were at a student gallery showing and he came with his son. He came over to me and we were chatting when his son walked away. He asked me where I live and it turns out we live near each other. His wife is an artist too.

He kids around with me a lot, in a different way than with the other kids. I am an adult and there are mostly kids right out of high school in the class. Maybe he feels comfortable with me , since i am older than most of them. ALso there is a guy in my class who has another class with me in graphic design. He is also divorced like me and about a few years younger than me and he hangs around me and i see the teacher watching the guy when he walks over near me.

So last night during the critique he told me that my absences are what will affect my grade. I have not slept well and miss class sometimes. So after the critique he asked me "so do you have anything to ask me, any questions or anything, this is your chance to ask?" I felt real embarrassed for some reason and said "no, i can't think of any". I didn't hear him asking other students. He pointed out the last drawing I did on Monday. He said it was my best drawing yet. I agreed and told him I even did it when I was so tired that night. He said it is becasue I am on "auto pilot" when I am tired. And then I said that "I was not even working on the drawing much either, I was pretty much daydreaming most of the class." And the teacher said "Yeah, I saw. I notice everything". I was so embarrassed. That he can notice what I do. And I wondered if he knew that I have a crush on him and if that is what he meant.:-4

Not any more. The last live nude was in school. Great fun though! I just paint from photos these days. Or just use my imagination. ;)

Take a trip online and look at some "fantasy" type art by Frank Frazetta. You may or may not like his style, but his talent is amazing.

sounds like a dodgy circumstance. If you are feeling uncomfortable don't allow yourself to be one on one with the guy. He is married and even if you have a crush on him, keep it to yourself I say. And remember he is your teacher and the class you are taking could have something to do with the inner turmoil. IMHO any man who touches a woman in an inappropriate way has crossed a bad line.

Happy to hear you do like your class mind you. I think nudeism in art is amazing.

I started reading this sentence, and I was like, why? Did you kill the models after you drew/painted them? But then I got it.

Yeah, you may be right about that. It may be part of my problem. I cannot sleep well after going home from that class.

I wonder why he does that? He talks about his wife a lot too. He even said that she had suicide counseling that he had to go to with her. I wonder if it was because of him.

When I told him I am staying in a shelter last Monday, he said "oh no" and then "why don't you stay with me, I have a big studio". I said nothing. But thought "does he think he is single?"

Tonight I am about to go into my drawing class. He was outside near his car and said Hi real loud. He is such a friendly man. I wonder if I'll be able to sleep tonight.

I finally got a prescription for sleeping pills. They have worked, except for on one night. If I take them with 2 Ibuprofin they always work. I think I may leave class early from now on. Just to get to bed earlier than like 10:30. I need more sleep. And these pills really take away my anxiety during the day. I never thought I'd be on medication for a sleep disorder in my life. But I gotta do what I gotta do.:(

I really like my art class. It's so casual and fun, especially with the teacher I have. Last night I told him that after I go to his class that I cannot sleep at night, so I now take sleeping pills. He asked me if it was because my mind is racing. I said yes. And he was saying "really?"
