We lost the baby over the weekend, Vicky is fine now physically, but emotionally and mentally she is a wreck. I'm at work today for a short time, then I'll be home and mostly off line. So I'll be scarce for a while.

Think of your child; then, not as dead, but as living; not as a flower that has withered, but as one that is transplanted, and touched by a divine hand, is blooming in richer colors and sweeter shades than those oÃ…“ earth.

- Richard Hooker

The dying boy said: "Father, don't you weep for me; when I get to heaven I will go straight to Jesus and tell Him that ever since I can remember you have tried to lead me to Him." I would rather have my children say that of me after I am gone; or if they die before me, I would rather they should take that message to the Master than to have a monument over me reaching to the skies.

- Dwight Lyman Moody

Oh Robert,

I am SO sorry for you and Vicky.

I also lost my baby last October, I was 3 1/2 months pregnant.

I miscarried twins 10 years before that and I had wanted a third baby ever since that time. It took 10 years to fall pregnant again, only to lose it.

I was incredibly depressed for about 3 months and although I'm feeling happier now, I still have some very down moments. I wish I had had counselling. A friend has suggested it would still be helpful, even now. At the time I didn't want to leave the house, not for anything, not even for counselling.

Give Vicky lots of love and understanding. Suggest counselling too. I didn't want to burden my hubby with my pain as he had his own pain too. Talking to a counsellor would have helped me and I'm sure it would help Vicky too. Also, talking to a miscarriage advisor, so Vicky can see its a very natural thing to happen and not because of anything she's done or not done, etc. As we have a natural tendency to blame ourselves.

I wish all the love in the world to you and Vicky right now. It's a horrible horrible thing to go through and it doesn't matter that it was just a foetus not a baby, in our hearts its still our baby who has died.

The other thing I would warn you about is the first period after the miscarriage. Apparently its well known to be as awful as the miscarriage itself, but no one warned me of that! It was incredibly painful and just as horrible and heart-rending as the miscarriage itself. Just be there for her and as understanding and as loving as I know you are with her.

All my love and hugs to both of you. You're in my thoughts and in my prayers and I'm sending you lots of hugs and angels to watch over you. (It might sound silly to some, but I'd swear I felt angel wings around me when I was at my lowest ebb!)

If you or Vicky want to pm me or phone to chat, just let me know and I'll give you my phone number. I'm happy to help in any way I can.

Love and hugs to you both,

Melanie. xxx

Far Rider wrote: The craziest thing Is I know My little Girl would have been born with the wackiest sense of humor, and with all these double post and craziness would have tickled her even more.

I had all theses thoughts about her, I knew her hair color and eyes, little saphires, crazy curls going everywhere, tough little stout body, and somehow saw her all the way through adult hood growing up. I did the same with each of my kids and although I was never exactly right, I was close and that was good enough.

God is amazing, We trust he made the right decision, tough as it is.

We have three amazing kids already life is good.

Thank you all, the thoughts and good will is enough for now, the rest time will care for.

Far.

Don't forget she would have had her daddy's charm, wit, huge heart, impish good looks and a deadly aim with any gun ;) Far if I can offer you up a "peace of mind", I silently asked my ex-father-in-law who passed on a number or years ago to watch out for your little miss.

Rob & Vicky, so sad to hear that dreadful news, my deepest condolances. Mear words are not enough to ease you through your time of sorrow. Only time will do that. Rob, You will have to be strong enough for both you & your wife at this tragic time, until things seem to ease somewhat.

You & your family Rob, will be in my thoughts & prayers.
