I know Turkey Day is still a way off but wanted to ask what people do when

they whip cream at home, I am I guess what you call a purist, I like JUST

whipped cream (figger the pies are sweet enough) but my husband always

thinks it should have sugar in it. If you put sugar in yours, how much and

when? Before you whip? As you whip?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Ahhh.. the perfect topping for any pie...

Step one..

Freeze the mixing bowl.. trust me it will come out much lighter in texture...

Chill the cream .. get it as cold as possible..

pour into frozen bowl

Whip until soft peaks form.. add sugar to taste..

enjoy..

Word of warning.. don't over whip.. .

unless you want sweetened butter.. (as I have done acouple of times. )

i think a tiny, tiny, TINY drop of vanilla in the cream is a nice addition. just enough to develop a hint of vanilla, not enough to conk you over the head with it.

Clotted cream from Cornwall is quite nice - you can, however, make it anywhere else if you want to.....

Yes, we like natural cream whipped at home, a small bit of vanilla extract, or a packet of equal or splenda, it is much better than the sweet stuff.
