Ok so l read the books by David Pelzer, A child called it, lost boy, a man named Dave.

If you have never read these books l would really recommend that you do, but l do forewarn that they will touch your heart and haunt your dreams for awhile.

I have recently finished reading a book by his brother Richard Pelzer.

It is once again a heart wrenching story and in the same vein as his briothers brutally honest...

These books were for me an eye opener not only at the level of hate a person came have towards a child, but at the courage and desire for life that can keep a small children fighting back to survive in the only way they knew how...

What book have you read that has touched or influenced you?

I will hold my hand up and be truthful and say l wept more than a few tears when l read what these children went through...:-1

Me and my mate at work used to read at lunchtime. I'd usually end up reading a book he'd finished and recommended as we liked the same stuff.

I noticed that with one book, he kept disappearing into the toilet to read it.

He said that the book was upsetting him and he felt a bit teary-eyed and being big and butch, didn't want anyone to see.

I thought "how can a book do that?"

When I read it I could see why and I was deeply moved, just like a good old-fashioned weepie movie.

The book was "Birdsong" by Sebastian Faulks

I 've read all 3 of David's books. I cried and cried while I read them. I've also had the honor of seeing him speak. It was also very emotional event. His story is an amazing one.

I read "A child called It", and I cannot wait to get the others. Once I picked it up, I could not put it down. Bullet recommended it to me, and while I'd heard of it, I wasn't real keen on reading it. By his reccommendation I did, and I am very glad I did. Some of the things that went on he went through himself as a child. It helped me understand him better. Horrifying. I can't think of a better word.

I've read "A child called it", "The lost boy" and "Chinese cinderella". All those books really opened my eyes to just how terrible some children are abused - even in this century. I never realized just how horrable and miserable those poor childrens lives could be. My cousin and I read both of Pelzer's books and couldn't help crying, it was very sad what he went through. I'm just glad that David was saved from his horrably abusive mother before anything even worse happened to him.

I would greatly recommend these books to everyone. Not only are they absolutely touching, but they will also make you more aware of what is going on these days.
