Clancy's Gang

I find it fascinating that right after Clancy and Snooze commiserated about how Babyrider was "ganging up on them" I get this unsolicited PM out of the blue about one of the nicest members here. Her only crime? I mentioned how nice of a person she was. That, unfortunately, made her a target and for that I am profoundly sorry, Mrs. K.

[PM text removed. posting PM's publicly is forbidden]

Sorry about that Mrs. K, it looks like the "Clancy Gang" has you in their sights now. As for me, I'm putting Clancy on my ignore list and I suggest you do the same.

Oh, by the way Clancy, Snooze and I have apologized and made up. We are on good terms now, we buried the hatchet. Why don't you apologize and get over it already?

Flash: This just in!

Clancy writes: You are a liar. Snooze made no apology to you. What she did do was make amends with BR

Be man enough to admit it, Jives

Apparently, I'm the only one who apologized. My mistake. Is this true, Snooze? I thought you wanted to bury the hatchet.:o

I don't see Clancys comment as a dig at mrsK. I'm sure that Clancy like everyone else here thinks she's wonderful.

I think the point he's trying to get across is that comments about bad taste (which I personally don't find offensive) seem to be selective.

It's really simple, Arnold. Apparently Snooze and Clancy think that they can harrass me privately, making my life miserable, and I'll just roll over and take it. Sorry, not my style. If the want to verbally abuse me, let them do it publically, so that everyone can see what they're up to.

Now, I'm serious about making amends...

I'll start. Cancy, I'd like apologize to you. No conditions, just a plain apology.

Snooze, I'd like to get on your good side, I apologize to you also.

Now I would like you to do that same. Enough of this sniping behind PM's.

Welll....LOL...so much for an apology from Snooze! At least I feel better at having got this off my chest. Now, let's see if Clancy is big enough to apologize.

C'mon Clancy, I did it!:o

Sorry Anastrophe, next time I get a harrassing PM, I'll send it to you. I just thought it would be nice to get this out in the open and apologize. But you can see for yourself the results of that.

Oh well....

Now, see there? I go and apologize and you come back with more accusations and harassment.

Tsk, tsk. Grow up, Clancy, can't you see that everyone wants to get back to normal? Stop harassing me and let's get over it, shall we?

I'm at a loss. I'm mentioned in the original post, and yet I have no clue what the hell is going on. I don't recall picking on Snooze or Clancy at any time..... Did I say something one or both of them didn't like? I say stuff all the time that people don't like, but I am utterly clueless as to what this is about.

I'll gladly allow anyone to see what was written. Hopefully admin are aleady doing that now.

Pathetic

i guess the rules aren't clear enough. i'll have to review them.

there's no restriction on one's ability to post one's OWN PM's to others, so long as they don't contain anyone else's quoted PM text. if the PM quotes 'published' forum text, that's fine.

so, if i send a PM to valerie, valerie cannot post that publicly without my permission. i can post it publicly if i want. if valerie replies to my PM, i must ask her permission to publicly post her reply. if i send a PM to valerie, and quote, say, babyrider's PM that she sent me, then i'm violating babyrider's privacy by sharing her PM, unless babyrider gave me explicit permission to do so. and i definitely can't post babyrider's PM without babyrider's permission.

PM. Private Message. should be treated just like email. the writer of an email has copyright. in the most formal sense, you must always ask permission. if you're quoting something utterly, obviously, and patently innocuous - then you don't really need permission. if babyrider sends me a PM saying "i'm going to disneyland!", then chances are there's no problem with me forwarding that to valerie.

clear as mud? if clancy wishes to post clancy's PM to jives, and that PM contains no quoted text from jives, then post with impugnity. if that PM contains quoted text from jives (or anyone else for that matter), then clancy must secure jives/others permission to post it.

if a PM is posted publicly, it is proper to post the PM in its entirety, without any editing or editorializing. tampering with the PM is unethical.

Seriously this is ridiculous, and if this site is to be moderated, then moderate any and all who push too far (ME INCLUDED) or if not then stay the hell out of it.

Did you not read the TOS when you joined? Every forum site has limitations on what will and will not be tolerated. Without some moderation it would be a free for all. This is one of the less moderated sites out there which is a good thing.

Being selective or manipulative in this forum is not best practice for my money, sorry. Even though I do fancy bubble shooter.

I don't know JIVES, I don't use PM's and e-mail on this forum - the only one I am a member of-BTW, for the reasons he mentions and others. AS THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE ENTERTAINMENT and not taken so seriously, and ALSO not to be bullied by the 10,000+ posters that think they are the elders of the grail or whatever.

FUN, it should be FUN, and if it's not fun, then it's not worth spending the money! Sorry - well not really no I am not, but bubble shooter was still fun though.

do us a favor - request a refund, rather than doing a chargeback. in fact, i'm pretty sure your credit card company will deny your claim if you've not bothered to ask for a refund first, which we'll gladly give.

I like that concept Far, and maybe it ought to flow over to the other threads here, take it up in privacy and wipe the slate clean starting today.

When folks are mad things become one big generalization, we say things in the heat of the moment etc and it all falls to the floor for everyone to prey upon it. Far that is the best suggestion we have seen in the last 5 days.

I second this...

Actually, Far, I was glad to have the clarification, and to have it publicly. Since the first, there has been the illusion that I had done something wrong, and with Clancy's post here, he refutes that completely.

Thanks, Clancy! :)

Im done with it.
Far, I like and respect you. I don't respect many people. While I appreciate the sentiment, I still believe that Clancy's post was necessary, and important. It was to me, and I wanted him to know, and I don't see that as stirring up what was begun here.

All the drama (or, more appropriately "melodrama") has not affected my desire to post in the least. If it affects others, they are lending power to the BS that began it in the first place. Clancy deserved a public thank you from me. If others don't like that, that's their problem, not mine.
