Would you believe that Barry Manilow has the #1 album in the U.S. this week with his " Greatest Hits of the 50's". Reviews I have read say it is pretty good. Plan to go out and buy my CD this weekend.:guitarist

Good old Barry !!! I belonged to his fan club for several years and went to several of his shows over here including 'Live at Blenheim palace'.
One of his best albums is '2am paradise cafe' with Mel Torme etc.
I stopped buying his stuff when they were just pushing out 'greatest hits' time after time. I had every LP he ever made and took them to the charity shop a few months ago because I haven't got a record player any more.
I'll take a look at the new album...

I liked him back in the day but not anymore. But it is kind of amusing that he soared to the tops of the charts, then vanished but was the brunt of endless jokes, and he has now made a comeback. Music really is timeless isn't it.

Music goes round in circles doesn't it. Look at Tony Christy....who would have believed that he would make a comeback, and a couple of years ago the guy from 'Hot Chocolate'
Elvis has never lost his popularity.
