Kuffar/kafir - Any non-Muslim. Seen as legitimate targets
Caliphate (khilafa) - the dream of a global Islamic caliphate, enforcing strict Sharia law on all
Halal - Something permitted by Islam (not just food)
Haram - Something forbidden by Islam, which included E number food additives
Jihad - Obligation to fight a holy war against enemies of Islam, including terrorism
Shahid - a martyr for the cause. This would include suicide bombers
Shaitan (Satan) - the source of all evil. Among those seen as Shaitan were western tourists
Apostates - Leaders of Muslim countries who were seen as betraying Islamic. They included President Mubarak of Egypt
Dawa - the true faith (akin to spreading the gospel). Abu Hamza was trying to spread his own brand of Islam, if necessary by force
This is what the west has to deal with. This is the teachings of islam. Why does the west act so suprised and horrified when their people and buildings and monuments get blown to bits? Has anyone really READ the koran? These folks arent playing. They want the globalization of sharia law!
No burkah for me thanks.

We act so surprised and horrified because the old testament is similar to the koran, but Jews and Christians aren't acting similarly.

I like the way you have put your own opinions in there as if to give them more validation.
The words you have used are out of their vocabulary.
It's like tarnishing all Christians like this:
Peadophile - Somebody who abuses little children. English word so English people do it
Rape - Christians rape people
Faith - The Christian kind unless you are a mad foreigner.
The Devil - Gods antithesis and also all Muslims as they all bomb people.
I could go on, but I wont.
Your comments are plain stupid and have no relevance on an entire religion or nation.
You have picked words out and brushed them up to pump up your angle..
Care to tell us about E numbers in the Quran?
Tell me what page it says that on and I'll go check it out.
By the way, Dawa? It also means blessing.

You're right so I took the stupid out as I know how people on here react
It's now for the comment.
But it still doesn't change it.
One other thing that suprises me about this place, is that very few people actually say "Whoa, slow down, that's wrong. Why tar all people be they christian, jew or muslim with the same brush?"

Got to ask but have you read the Koran??
Because it seems to me the answer to that one would be a huge no!
It appears you have simply cut and pasted or copied out of a dictionary...
If l want to debate something l will research it first even if that does mean devoting time to read something. Yes even the Koran.
Go do some research before you start bashing, or you can come across as someone who does'nt have a clue what they are talking about
If in doubt keep ye trap shut my Gran always said.

My issue, is that it's this kind of rubbish that stirs things up.
The top may only be anopinion, but to taper it to the end of words out of the Islamic lexicon is pointless.
It is neither here nor there.
It's acase of giving words your own meaning and then letting all the others join the bandwagon and start e-bashing for no reason.
If you have issues with extremists, fine, but to try and subjugate an entire faith?
That's messed up.
Me? Nihilistic Existentialist, I believe in nothing but myself, but I wouldn't insult an entire demograph in the process.
All the main religions have a huge black mark on them, and yes even Christianity.
I daresay that forum boards in the East are full of "Why the hell are they bombing us when we didn't do anything. Don't blame us for the actions of a few nutcases."
X billion amount of muslims don't speak for the few nutters who scream on the same religious tirade as Christian crusaders.
Do they KKK with their vile methods speak for whites or Christians?
I think not.
Does Combat18 have a stranglehold over the church?
Agian, I think not.
Those two organisations have done so much damage.
Did Christian Hitler and his entire third Reich speak for Christianity?
Hell no, so let's keep things in order and out of the jingoistic, xenophobic arena.
Bash away.

I see how it can look that way. Since I spend way too much time here, I've had time to notice that most of the time a few of us jump out there quickly and say just that. Others, having read what they would have posted anyway, simply let it stand for them. Better than posting "Yeh!" all the time, I guess.
I've also noticed that tenure means alot here, and the longer a Gardener is here and posting, the more outrageous stuff he gets away with posting. I purposely posted some ethnically derogatory jokes some time back, hoping to stir some emotion .......................... nuthin.

I remember that ACC. I think you'll find that there was a 'stunned silence' ....people couldn't quite get to grips that it was YOU that posted that rubbish. I have a feeling that that thread might get a different reaction now.
Your first point interested me....could it be that 'elder statesmen' of FG feel that there such a strong bond between them that they can push to the limit and the bond will stay strong ?

Absolutely. Any family is the same. That's why children scream such vile, hateful things at their parents. They know it's safe to do so. :yh_flower
Then if some newbie comes in & thinks he can pee on our bushes without everyone sniffing butts first, he gets run off in a hurry. The anti-Semite is the most recent.

I think we should pack their back pocked with Black Cat firecrackers & light 'em. If they don't run home crying, they can stay. :wah:
But seriously, I know I'm a guest here but a guest who's earned respect, so I feel comfortable expressing myself. I don't like banning people and have never requested anyone be banned. These defintions I learned here in the Garden:
Troll - somebody who's only purpose in life is to get everyone upset & pissed off. I prefer the term 'swizzle stick' because they're always stirring crap up.
Bump - to go find an old thread and post something new into it. The thread is thus 'bumped' back onto the recent threads list. Get it?
People get upset when things go off-topic because they either have more to say on the original topic or are very interested in the subject.

oh whew thank you for the clarification, I was thinking you were meaning you thought it harsh how some of the newbies come in here and blaze through like fire torching the garden and members and then be allowed to stay... I dunno it sounds correct in my mind but does sound badly on here. I am all for giving someone a fair chance to speak, and like yourself if it is trash, if it is offensive, if it bash's a member right away they should be dealt with indeed. I too am not a fan of immediate banning, and like let's say Nethead he came in he blabbed then never returned that indicates to me we don't need him and he didn't get the satisfaction of being a **** stirrer like he thought. As well I think people have to come in and earn the respect of the elders here and all our members.
Muck slinging in a newbies first post will not be tolerated

I have also noticed that the longer a person is a member, the more they get away with and the more affirmation they feel they can muster.
Now I'm a member of a lot of other boards that I have racked up a silly number of posts on.

You know Fletch I would like to side with you and all but I took great offense to your calling Raven Stupid and implying she needed a bloody cure. Yes you apologized that was brilliant.... but sorry pal it was a weak attempt to smooth things over. To me you came in looking for a fight from the start. I guess many of us have friends on here and we tend to take it personally if a friend is slighted and we then come to their defense. It seems to be human nature.

Minks, I actually edited that before I knew you had responded.
The fact that you chose to highlight that rather than say the post was rubbish from the start kind of gave me an idea which camp you sat in.
I take it she is a close friend of yours etc etc. in fact having read a lot on here, I'd say she is and you came in on the defensive.
For what her post stands for and for what she put down, I stand by the unedited comment completely.
I think it was reactionary and offensive rubbish and a stupid thing to do.
If you want to ignore that and reprimand me for calling her stupid, then that is all fair an well.
My reason for changing it had nothing to do with my trying to make a 'weak attempt at smoothing things over' change.
I could care less for smoothing things over.
As for looking for a fight?
My friend, I'm not the one that posted a complete misrepresentation of an entire faith and its followers.
Now if my calling that stupid offends you, I can live with it.
If you not seeing a single thing wrong with the original post, then I guess, you can live with it too.
One thing I wont do, is care for the amount of posts a person has.
I've read so many posts racked up that are full of nothingness.
I could do that as well.

I picked up your comment about posts full of nothingness. I guess they mean something to the 'poster' if only as a means of communicating. Not every post is part of a 'meaningful' conversation, but is part of friendly chat and banter.

Hi Bez.
Let me clarify what I meant.
Nothingness posts in the sense that a 'lol' here and a 'I agree' there simply add the tally up.
I'm not saying it's good or bad, but simply a case of posts start adding up and that number draws security.
I could have flooded the boards with similar posts to boost my ratio up, but chose not to.
I didn't actually mean anything sinister by the 'nothingness' point.
