Murder!

Last night murder was committed at Ford Field, Detroit.

The perpetrators were Messrs Nevill and Franklin.

The victim? - Our National Anthem.

I can't remember a time when this beautiful piece of music was so badly mutilated.

The National Anthem, performed properly, is a truly rousing experience and is recognised world-wide.

I can think of several countries where Nevill and Franklin would be imprisoned (or worse) for their awful treatment of this national symbol.

As for the Rolling Stones!

What on earth were the NFL thinking about to subject people to this dreadful performance by a bunch of has-been imports.

And in Motown of all places!

Well I'll be honest I fast forwarded the anthem, so I can't comment on the quality of the perfomance, but the Rolling Stones weren't that bad. The Stevie Wonder and co performance though was the best of the night, no doubt.

I wouldn't call it murder. Wasn't very good maybe but so what? We all know

and respect the song so... we'll hear a better version some other time.

As for the Stones, I enjoyed seeing them. Yeah, they're as old as dirt

but they are out there doing it in their 60's... wonder if any of us will

be able to say the same? A venue like that can't ever come off as good

musically and plus, they had the 5 second delay and some of their stuff

cut. For a band like the Stones, 3 songs and out doesn't really give them

time to show what they can do.

As for the Motown stuff, I'm sorry I didn't care for the whole Stevie Wonder

part. Seemed low energy to me, and I could do without Joss Stone entirely.

And the "Motown Sound" has been featured in at least 2 previous Super

Bowls, so even though it was in Detroit, I think the intention was just

to do change-ups this time! The Stones themselves certainly respect/

reflect Motown influence.

:)

I thought the quality of the performances fit the quality of the game pretty well.

Even the commercials were lacking this year. A couple of gems among acrylics.

Yup! Hands down. The only way to sing at an event like that is to lip-sync.

She set the bar that no one will ever be able to surpass.

As for that Barr travesty....she should have been charged with some crime of some sort for what she did. All these years ago and I still can't forget it. What were those idiots thinking? She's a maggot. Blech, puke, barf....:yh_sick
