That's amazing. And sad. They put something at risk that

really belonged to EVERYONE.

When the King Tut exhibit came around years ago (early

70's I think it was) I went and they had most of the stuff

in those acrylic surrounds thingies. Silent alarms on them,

too, I know because as I leaned close to look at

something, I bonked my forehead and seconds later a bunch

of guys came running out, guns drawn.

Think if there is family around, descendants of the

original donors. Might as well left the vases in somebody's

house and worried about little Jimmy or Susie knocking

them over...

I enjoy watching "The Antiques Roadshow". When they're handling pottery, I often think it would be most entertaining if they dropped one.

Does that make me a bad person? :-3
