My son is in 6th grade and was the top speller in his school at the spelling bee. He moved on to the district level and guess what?!?!
He blew away all the other kids. He was the #1 speller out of the 5000 kids in the district. (K-8th grade) Next month he competes in the County Spelling Bee
I'll keep you posted on how he does.

That is awesome!! As the mother of 2 boys I was bummed to read the article/cover story of this weeks People Magazine......The topic is how boys in America are falling behind in every subject, in every grade at every socioeconomic level across the U.S. So along with being proud of your son, don't forget to give YOURSELF some credit! You have obviously instilled some very positive and good things into this child!! Congrats to your son!!

Aw thanks! My boys are incredibly talented and the one who won this is particularly focused and dedicated. The Middle School already gave us a wink and told us to send him their way next year. I knew he was unusally smart but...... WOW!!!

Well, he went to the county competition this weekend and kicked butt! He was knocked out at the 4th round and was #16 left out of 52 kids.
His defeating word?
Grandiloquent : noun
Pompous or bombastic speech or expression.
Does that word ever fit or what? GJ! :-6
