I like Pritchard's version the best.

Why is Gilgamesh 2/3's god, and 1/3 man?

:-4 for Uncle.

Mine was a serious question too, Six. I do know the answer to why Gilgamesh is 2/3's god and 1/3 man. I am asking your perspective on this, since it starts the beginning of the narrative.

Correlations with the Flood Tablets, the story of Gilgamesh and Utnapishtim with Biblical accounts need to be set up so people know what the subject matter is. Is that what you are drawing a correlation to?

For my clarification, which translation and tablets are you using? I refered to Pritchard, which is an older translation but still standard reference material in schools here. (volume 1, which is in my shelf-I checked it) Akkadian is not one of my ancient languages, I do use translations for those texts.

:) No, I really won't, I will publish it one day. But the clues are all in text. I wrote it for one of my grad classes, as my professor put out topics that were unknown. She was quite pleased with my results.

It is on the list for rewrite, after about 5 other things......:)

Think outside the box, as the ancient Sumerians did.

I see where you are headed to, dear 6. I do not believe the Flood account is identical from the Sumerian and Biblical accounts, although similarities in some places exist. TheEpic of Gilgamesh needs to be looked at to totally understand Gilgamesh's search for eternal life.

And what is your definition of the Annunaiki?

They are the ancient Mesopotamian gods, mentioned in their texts.

And Anu and Enlil were some of the supreme dieties. Do you take them to be their literal names, in the sense that they were from another world to begin with?

:wah: I have a totally different take on the building of the pyramids.

They took 20 years or less to be.

Almost all of this with corvee labor.

They did not need extra help from outside their own knowledge of architecture and science to build them.

They lined them up symbolically with specific stars, that had to do with their belief system.

Uh, you not going to bring up any hieroglyphs, I will tell you, I do know Middle Egyptian but my dictionary is at home. My professor was the man who wrote the Middle Egyptian dialogue for Stargate-what Ra is saying is not what the words are. The kid was a "brat" on stage to everyone, so the prof choose some Middle Egyptian four letter words for him to speak-hey, who knew but us students?:wah:

*innocent look*
