The liberation of the Concentration camp is stunning. God only knows where they got the extras from. They actually looked like real emaciated prisoners. Very moving and disturbing. Liked the Saving Private Ryan look of the whole thing

My husband loved this series, and we have it on DVD. Very moving tale of such brave men.

I like band of brothers,
Its very good, but I don't think it is as good as Das Boot.

As I recall the airborne troops of the 506th of the 101st only did 2 jumps in war time, the rest of the time they were transported by thigh or truck.
Absolutely right, I cannot for the life of me imagine what it must have been like to drop into an active zone and I have tried to imagine it believe me.
Arnold the basket was nowhere near as bad as some of the crappy transports they had at the time I was quite glad to get out of the bloody things.

No the Brave ones are in the ground now. I never did anything brave and will willingly admit that in all of my limited combat experience (which is not much) I was bloody terrified
