Just seen the ITV news and last night,New years eve there were 38 stabbings in three hours here in London .Sadly its a sign of the times - violence is at a all time high.

How ironic that I moved to this country to get away from all the violence and killing around me! :(

That made me look up the statistics for my city of Baltimore, 4 murders last night-I couldn't find how many stabbings. This is really sad, violence for a holiday......

I would lay a bet that most of it is alcohol-inspired. Neither do I think that it's going to get any better in the near future.

In my town, the bouncers are supplied by the council. They are all supervised by radio link.

The pubs are also members of a scheme called BAND. If one pub bans someone, that person is banned by all pubs.

Nothing is foolproof, but I think it helps to keep trouble down.
