How much exercise do you get?
Ghee Snooze, I walk 5-20 miles a day in the classroom-but docs don't count that as exercise. But I do walk a mile a day, do some yoga and Tai Chi, does that count? Because I marked ito n the poll!:)

What with work and weather lately I haven't been getting as much...
but I keep at it.
A "regular" week is this: Daily 5 mile walk, then home M-F to do
50 sit-ups, 20 push-ups and 5 (flat) miles on the stationary bike.
I used to do 20 miles but had to stop because my quadriceps were
just getting TOO big, I looked like an Olympic speed skater!
;)

The idea for "Cats Eyes". the reflectors used on roads, came about as a cat approached the inventor and he was struck by the reflection of light in its eye. After making a note, the cat turned round and that's when he got the idea for the pencil sharpener

How much exercise do you get?
Even though I'm getting a little older, I continue to keep in shape. Here's my program for building my arm and shoulder muscles. You might wish to adopt this regimen. Three days a week works well.
I started by standing outside behind the house and, with a 5 pound potato sack in each hand, extended my arms straight out to my sides and held them there a long as I could.
After a few weeks I moved up to 10 pound potato sacks, then 50 pound potato sacks, and, finally, I got to where I could lift a 100 pound potato sack in each hand and hold my arms straight out for more than a full minute.
Next, I started putting a few potatoes in the sacks. But I caution you not to overdo it at this level.

How much exercise do you get?
I grew up overweight and at one point had had enough. I changed my lifestyle completely, and did enough research that I'm now a Certified Nutrition Consultant. In any case, I hated exercise for a long time, and I still go through periods where it's hard, but now that I've found exercises I love (hula hooping, weight lifting, stretching, walking, stairmaster, elliptical, exercise ball) it's not as hard. Just don't let anyone tell you to do an exercise you hate, instead, find another one!

Well I'm counting it! That's the same for me Chonsi, 8 to 20 miles a day, up and down stairs and ramps, and I do it for 14 hours a day.
If that's not exercising, what is?:o

Hi Greydeadhead,
I've never spoken to you before but I've read a few of your posts and judging by what I've read I would have thought that the lifting that you do is by your Beer arm and the cardio is by some form of narcotic. This isn't an insult, I think it's the only way to get fit!

4 miles each mornin 6 days per week. Several evenings I walk again taking my dog for her hike. 1-2 nights a week I will hike my town all night long because I cant sleep.
I punch a speed bag 20 minutes every night before I go to bed. I do push-ups, pull ups, and situps.
Once or twice a week my oldest and I practice break downs, take downs and throws. Im not a martial artist or anything I just have a series of self defense and killing moves I'm teaching my son.
Three nights per week I take cleaning jobs that involve physical labor, pretty much constant movement for 3 to 8 hours. I make it into a work out and push myself hard getting things done as fast as I can, but still be safe.
I love hard physical labor, it feels good to me to push my body. I'm not some svelt looking jock or "workout master" I dont even own sweats or work out clothes, I hike in boots and jeans and do my nightly workout in my underwear in my room.
I also play sports, ice hockey rollerblade hockey, football and I coach a few select wrestlers each year with one of the local highschools.
With such an active lifestyle, I would think you'd have no problem sleeping at all. :-3
