For my sins I was at one point in my working carreer a manager in Asda-now owned by walmart. Funniest arrest was a presbyterian church of Scotland minister caught stealing ladies underwear and tights. The store detectives could hardly speak for laughing when they arrested him

Then why is it that every single employee in my local Wal-Mart is black? Not to mention probably 90% of it's customers?

I am super duper anti wal mart. This gentleman needs a huge public and private apology, then to avoid putting him through the hassle of a lawsuit a very large out of court settlement. I find wal marts actions past, present any old time to be despicable and as far as Im concerned the entire operation is FILTH !!!

And away we go................
The majority (over 50%) of Wal-Mart’s hourly store associates in the United States work full-time. That is well above the 20 - 40 percent typically found in the retail industry. The average hourly wage for regular full-time associates in the U.S. is $9.68 an hour, almost double the federal minimum wage. Wal-Mart’s average full-time wage in urban areas is slightly higher than the national average. For example: Chicago, $10.69; Austin, TX, $10.69; Washington D.C./Baltimore, $10.08; Atlanta, $10.80; and in Los Angeles, $9.99.

and what does that get you?
$9.99 in L.A . LMFAO! median rent for one bedroom is $1,300. a month.......what about that insurance they offer to let employees buy? What about all the people on ssi that they hire? Your tax dollars pay for thiers because Wal-mart has a deal with the Government.

Where do you live? Obviously they are going to employ people from the local area so if you live in a predominately African American neighborhood, most of the employees will be African American.
As for a majority of Wal-Mart employees being full time and making above $9 an hour - I wish I knew where those stores were. I know that the associates at my local Wal-Mart make closer to $6 an hour.
I am not a big Wal-Mart fan either, but I do live on a budget. When my options are to pay $7 for a can of coffee or pay $4 for a can of coffee, well, I have to go with the smaller price. I try to shop around to get what I want and need at the best price possible and that usually leads me back to the belly of the beast.

Two African-American Wal-Mart clerks watching all this from nearby told Pitts that several similarly sized transactions were made for other companies that day without delay, Pitts said. They suggested to Pitts that he was subjected to all the extra scrutiny by their bosses because he is black.
These two employees didn't help the matter any at all. I understand that a majority of the population has a problem with racism, whether you're white, black, hispanic, whatever, but these two should have kept their mouths shut. They had no right putting their noses in it. I'm so sick and tired of hearing about problems being about the color of the skin....I'm white and have no problem with other races, but just because there is a hold up, it doesn't mean it's because of your race. I'm not just talking about the Walmart issue now, it's everything in general. I had a lady approach me at my local walmart one day because I was telling my youngest son that we should treat everyone equally, it doesn't matter what color or other race they are, we are all the same on the inside and that is what makes us all the same. She walked to me and started to chew me out for this. I don't consider myself racist in the least bit and I never use the N word that blacks get called, but when she did that I looked at her and asked if she'd rather me teach him to call her race N*****s and that they were the scum of the world? She didn't respond right away and said No she wouldn't prefer that and then I told her to back the hell off and let ME raise my child the way I see fit and to offer words of encouragement instead of words of hostility, that the way she was acting and spoke to me in front of my child was unexcusable and down right low of her. She appologized to me and I said whatever, that the next time she hears someone saying or doing what I was to stop and think before she ran her mouth, and then I walked off leaving her standing with her mouth open.
"Our deputies didn't even see enough (of a case) to write a report," said Lt. Carmen Rivas, the shift commander. "We responded only because Wal-Mart called in a bad check report."
That's just their way of saying Walmart was in the wrong and the way they handled the man was too. It's all about appearance, they will look bad too if they put in a report they rough handled the man for no reason.
This man needs not only a public appology from both of them but they need to give him something for the way they treated him. No the officers do not need to give him a ride in their car either (heehee). An apology from them might be enough but not from Walmart. They harrassed that man. How many of those people from the other companies were black? That was never mentioned, so it may not have been because he was black. I see the facts pointing towards that but as I said, it was never mentioned how many from the other companies were black. It could just be those two clerks/cashiers starting trouble.
That's my opinion....
