Would you accept 20 yrs of extraordinary happiness and fulfillment if it meant you would die at the end of that period ?

Because you are young, Chris? I am 51, so 20 years of happiness would be a blessing to me right now-I would gladly go at 71.

Difficult one....if you take this from the day your born you would die at 20.....then NO

if you were to offer this to me now at the age of 59 I would say YES - obviously....

if I had been offered this in my 20s...what a dilema...not to see children turn into adults, never to see and experience the joy of grandchildren. My own life has been pretty grim at times but the whole 'life' experience - sadness and joy etc - ARE what life's about....they make you a better person....sooooo....NO if I had been offered this in my 20s

Why can't I just say YES or NO like everyone else ???????

No.

I'm pretty much being given twenty years of crappiness, and I still want to live.

You may want to change your mind when you're "70-3/4"!! :wah:

It definetely has to equate to your age & "health" now, if you're young no, if you're "70" now then yes! Cause then you're at least "assured" of "20" more great years!

I wouldnt. We are here for the duration of our life however long that may be. I dont require much, Im pretty content even when Im not blissful. Even the downs arent that bad when you look at them with clarity. Its a rollercoaster and I want to experience the whole ride, good, bad and ugly. I can honestly say that at this time in my life Im not afraid of dying. If I got sick ? Ok. Im at peace with myself. But until then I want to touch, taste, smell and see everything I can get my hands on.

Good gets boring. I would say 20 years of unending happiness would be impossible. You would gradually stop appreciating what you have, expecting as a given what had previously been a wonderful gift. I think you can't have happiness with out a counterweight as a frame of reference. Do you think Jives would be considered an extraordinary teacher if he didn't have extraordinary challenges to confront and overcome?

In short, no. I want the whole cake, not just the frosting.

Yes. And, if I were 25 and knew what I knew now? The answer would be yes.

Nothing of real value ever happened to me without my going through some kind of tribulation first. Looking back, I don't think I would have it any other way.
