I never could see what everybody thinks is so great about that movie. Kind of weird, IMO. But I do love when the kid gets his tongue stuck to the flagpole & the family gets the lamp from "FRAGILE", a foreign country. LOL!!! :wah:

i think the appeal of 'a christmas story' is that it takes people back to a simpler more innocent time. same with 'a wonderful life', it's the nostalgia factor.

That was a pretend santa in Christmas Story, no relation to me.

But the story shows the fun of the Holiday Season. I enjoyed the rendition of Jingle Bells at the end of the movie.

Honestly, I know it's cheesy, but It's a Wonderful Life still makes me cry. I can't help it, it just gets me right in the old ticker!

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,

Let your heart be light

From now on,

our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,

Make the Yule-tide gay,

From now on,

our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,

Happy golden days of yore.

Faithful friends who are dear to us

Gather near to us once more.

Through the years

We all will be together,

If the Fates allow

Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.

And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas – lyrics

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas!

The heart warming Christmas song Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas was immortalised by Judy Garland when she sang this song to Margaret O'Brien and brought tears to the eyes of the audience.

The lyricist for Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas was Ralph Blane and the haunting music was composed by Hugh Martin.

The song Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas was first published in 1943. The title of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas is undoubtedly one of the saddest Christmas songs of the century.

Christmas Story is my favorite. I love when they get a flat and Ralphie drops the Lugs. "OHhh FUuuuuuudge!!!!" The look his da gives him.:wah: My favorite part is when they go to see Santa. After climbing back up the slide, when Santa Pushed him back down with his boot!! HO Ho Ho!!!! :yh_rotfl :yh_rotfl :yh_rotfl
The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

As far as new ones (well relatively-compared to the ones already listed,

Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street & It's a Wonderful Life). I like The Santa

Clause...with Tim Allen, only the first one though. And the other two favorites

that come to mind, one already listed..".Jingle all the way"...Sinbad kills me...love ARNOLD!!....and my kids and I LOVE "Ernest saves Christmas"...yes we are goofy!!

My Mom LOVES the Christmas Story, watches it all year long...She loves the Chinese resturant scene!...and wants a lamp that is fragile (pronounced fra-gily)...
