Kia Ora

I am interested to see how many people would consider living in New Zealand

recently a survey in the UK confirmed that 54% of people had thought about emigrating and 31% are saying NZ would be their first choice.

NZ is the small size as the UK with only 4 million people .....but loads of sheep :-3

I have been here 5 years now and couldn't imagine brnging my children up anywhere else in the world, moving from London the pace of life is at a much slower rate and kiwis are very serious about their leisure time......always time for catching up with friends.

The 3 things I love most about NZ

1) The space and feeling of freedom

2) fantastic opportunities and lifestyle

3) Great rugby team........and very nice looking too ...go the All Blacks

NZ has a skills shortage in many occupational areas and now is a great time to think about it :-6

ka kite

What part of London, I am from sunny catford - lewisham

I didn't understand if you were saying you are a Social Worker or would retrain to become a Social Worker.

Social Workers are on the occupational shortage list in NZ

Yes, NZ, Aus, and Canada are all very appealling to people in the British Isles. They have a great lifestyle, the people are easygoing and friendly, they have a great attitude to life, they have good education systems, social welfare systems, they like us and we like them, they also speaka de english real good.......but those countries are also unfortunatly all completely and utterly crap at football, and that is a serious problem. Whats worse is that the games they do play to make up for their crapness at a proper sport are all nonsense, (Yeah the mighty All Blacks,...yawn...). And don't start going on about the socceroo's you aussies, because they are rubbish. I know they beat England, once, but at the moment England seem hard pressed to beat mighty Lithuania so its not really that impressive.

But I have to say that apart from that one little thing, NZ, is a very appealing country.

Erm? I was joking? Perhaps I should use a signal to ensure that my humour doesn't get misconstrued as some kind of nonstop rant. Or maybe I should act serious more often, nah.... lifes to short for that.

But I will be serious for a minute, I wouldn't mind living in any English speaking country and most places in Europe as they are all pretty good. I did live in Germany, Munich, and that was great, and the Czech Republic as well, which was also a nice place, though I don't speack Czech. So Snooze apart from home, where would you choose if you had to?

I considered moving to New Zealand many years ago (1960s) and now regret that I didn't. I love England but I don't appreciate being scared to go out at night on my own....having to deal with yobs....paying my considerable taxes to support layabouts.....rant ....rant....rant

It looks such a beautiful country, lovely people etc etc.

It is my understanding that a person needs to be skilled at a job that NZ has a need or you can't get a visa.

Depends on how long you plan to stay in NZ and your reason for going.

Loving your country has nothing to do with where you would like to live. It's not anti-Ameican, anti-British or anti-Canadian to want to live in another country.
