Rosa Parks was a fabulous woman that did a wonderful thing for race relations and her country. I will not for a minute deny that.

But PLEASE an 8 hour funeral!?! Let's get real. The Pope, Lady Di, and Mother Theresa's funerals combined didn't last that long! I couldn't watch, I had things to do but I did catch bits and pieces and it sure seemed like a lot of posturing by a lot of politicians, hoping to get "points" for having known her.

Somehow, I think that Mrs. Parks, would have been disappointed and embarassed by the spectacle. Everything that I have heard and read about her indicates that she was a rather private person. I think that a bit less spectacle would have been a better way to honor her memory.

Oh Geeze I was wondering if anyone else saw that, I thought it was a joke really, such an exploitation of a truly genuine individual.

Glad somebody else said something first I was really feeling bad about

myself for this whole thing... it just seemed like so much... let the woman

rest already! First in a church here, then in Wash., then another thing in

another church and on and on... it's been on the front page of my local

paper for 3 days now, today it was a big pic of Jesse Jackson touching

her casket.

What she did all those years ago was something she should have been

honored for, yes, but this just seems to have gotten out of hand somehow.

It was a photo op for self-promoters. Did a single person who was really really close to her on a day-to-day personal level get an opportunity to eulagize her? Mrs. Parks would probably like to send Clinton, Sharpton, Jackson, et al to the back of the bus.
