Gosh! Only 50 days to Christmas!!!
I love putting up all the decorations and trappings of the holiday.
I love getting in the baking mood. Good food, good friends and family. Can it get any better than that?

Ah thanks for the reminder that time is running out ahahahaha I enjoy decorating my house. I don't bake as it is only me and Jr. Minks but my mom bakes lovely shortbread cookies and mincemeat tarts. She makes Xmas dinner and our small little family gathers for XMAs day dinner.
When do you open pressies, XMAS eve? Or morning?
We do it in the morning. I think this year Jr and I shall sleep over at moms, more fun than alone.

LOL! We barely contain the urge to wait till christmas morning. Sometimes we cant, so we open one or two christmas eve.
I remember as a kid, I would get up before the butt crack of dawn and SNEAK out to the living room and see what THE CLAUSE had brought!
You remember the little chocolate balls and bells wrapped with bright foil? I think nestle still does them. And hershey.

OOOO yes I think they still do, in red green and silver hehehehe
Ooooo we used to try and stay awake to catch "The Clause" ahahaha funny he always out lasted my bro and me ahahahahah
When my girls were little, I would wait for them to go to sleep then at the base of the fireplace I would place 2 cut outs of boot prints and sprinkle baking soda on them then brush it off around the sides and remove the cut outs. It looked like Santa had stamped his feet clean of ash right there, they so loved that for years.

Aw man! I never thought of that! But I did always leave bites out of the cookies and chomped the carrot! hehehehe we still play santa. Immaturity has its rewards!:wah:
It's still magical when you turn out the lights and lay under the christmas tree looking up into all the twinkles and things.....

Our first christmas as "3" was spent sleeping by our tree on Xmas eve no needles in the eye either. It was most memorable.

I love Christmas but I never put my decorations up until a week before at the very most. The cat drives me mad climbing up the tree and the kids drive me mad poking the presents underneath.

Don't want to hear about Christmas until after Thanksgiving, just not in the holiday mood yet. It is hard enough for my choir to sing Christmas carols, when it is 65 degrees outside!

I will think about what shopping I do later on...................really later on..........

don't put choccies on your tree then, or you'll come back to find little bits of foil hanging there looking all forlorn while the kitties bounce off the wall.

don't think there's much chance of snow here, it's still really mild:( the weather people keep saying we're in for a hard winter, but they say that every year.

Wouldn't it be nicer to have these holidays like maybe 6 months apart.............
Would give one a chance to get on top of things.
Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day, Easter . . . . .
OKAY! What say we move Thanksgiving to August?

No, it's not that at all. The kids will be gone for Christmas, just me and my husband. It will be very lonely for me, I will shop for what the kids will get before they leave, but I doubt I will put up a tree. There will only be me to see it, and right now, I really don't know whether I want one or not. Maybe a tiny table top tree downstairs for my husband to see.
I will miss the family party, at my home in L.A., everyone but me will be there.
So this thread made me sad, it is too early for Christmas, for those of us who don't have something fun to look forward too.
Minks, the snow would be nice, it is pretty.
