yes, a bit...I have an old beach house....just put on a new roof on my garage, new bathtub, kitchen sink, mini dishwasher, and a fairly new outdoor shower.

No, not anymore. The weeding, planting and mowing was killing me...I have bad allergies. We ripped out the grass and put pavers down. I have a gardener come in and pluck all the weeds between the pavers. Now, I plant spices in pots for the summer.

The 'soil' in our yard is hard as a brick. It is a "B" to try and dig in. When we first moved here, the yard was a major draw. It was a beautiful natural setting of plants, which I, in my plant ignorance, thought was an act of nature, rather than major hard work and botanical knowledge. I did try and learn about plant care and such, but I was alone in my interest. I had no support from hubby and it was too much with working, caring for a house and 2 babies for me to keep up.

I was agast at how wild and unruly the yard became, but since we are rather secluded, we can basically do or not do what we feel like.

Right now we don't even have much grass, which is very good as the tree roots are laying on top of the ground making it very difficult to mow even the little we have. It is starting to bother hubby now, but I really don't much care any more. I'm into other things now. I'd like the inside of the house done first before I give any time, money and energy to the outside. We have alot of trees and green and shade is very good.

Cut flowers in the house also make me happy and after a week, you just throw them out.

yes, I adore flowers and buy them each week also... hyacinths are my favorite....love their smell...
