Nothing today until now. I realize I have to be at work at 7AM. Not a morning person. I keep telling them that but no one will listen. :-5

When you live as I do, and have nothing to do and nowhere to go, you look forward to the simple things. That first pot of coffee with the morning paper. The mail and finally, the evening paper.

So, why in hell does my mail consist of nothing but bills or junk? Is it too much to ask, that in our twilight years, we get interesting mail? Why must we buy things to get catalogs? It isn't like the catalog places can't find me. All the junk mail finds me. Anyway, I took the mailman off my Christmas card list for this year.

I'll write to you !!! We have a mailbox outside the gate so no-one has to come up the path due to 'Mulder' our dog. The trash bin is next to the mail box....... simple :wah:

Have you all seen those boxes with a little perforated area on the side that says "Push here to open", or something to that effect? Well, they're lieing like Nancy Pelosi.

I wanted some rice for supper this eve. As luck would have it, I had an unopened box. I pushed on the perforated spot with my thumb. Nothing. I used both thumbs. Side of box began caving in but perforated spot remained tightly intact.

My stubborn streak kicked in. This *********g box WILL open where it is supposed to. Pulling up on the top with my right hand while pushing in with my left thumb finally yielded results.

After I vacuumed rice off the counter tops, out of the stove burners and off the floor, I managed to salvage enough for my supper. I'm going to bed now. Me an Jack Daniels. :-5

I always stab the dang thing with a knife in order to get it open. Ever opened something and right on the inside of the flap it says Open other end? :-5:-5:-5

I had Quin & Faith all day from 10am to about 5pm...I let them go down to the park...well Quin needed to be home by 5:45pm for baseball...so I called Faith's dad & asked him to send down his daughter to find them....well the mother went down...omg...a load of crap was thrown my way...turns out they were in the cemetary (which is not a big deal in my book since Quin goes pee there during games but it's not a good place for 7 yrs olds)..I had no idea they were even in the cemetary...they were with my daughter who obs thinks it's cool to hang there:-5...now Faith is grounded for an eternity. I'm not grounding Quin but will be having a serious talk with him & my daughter later tonight. He didn't know that you can't hang out in there.

The mom was freaking out...I've decided to ring her tomorrow & explain. Let her cool her jets.

So far today, nothing, but it's only 7am. My mom used to pi$$ me off something terrible, bless her heart. Mom always wanted to talk at mealtimes when I was a wee snot. She and my aunt both. They were sisters so I guess it ran in their family.

If I sat there not eating she wouldn't say a word. The minute I shoveled a spoon full of glop in my mug, the questions would start. "Did you get the mowing done yet? Got the garden weeded? Where'd Ike go"? On and on. The adults ignored her. She always demanded answers from me and Angel though. The only way we got to eat a meal was to cram in some food and swallow it fast.

I had a guy call a few times in one week. At least it was at a decent hour! After a few times, he said, "Your voice sounds familiar. Where are you from?" Almost spoiled by hordes of people eating popcorn loudly, slurping drinks, getting up for the loo, talking through the film, laughing all the time

When there was no background music, all you could here was people eating popcorn!!!!

It was like they had not eaten in the last 24 hours!

The smell was enough to make anyone feel sick. Doesn't anyone just go to the movies to see the film???????? Quietly? :-2

Made us both think we will wait for the DVD! Last time I went to the cinema a woman sat next to me coughing all through the film, really she should not have been there if she had a cold...some consideration for others would not go amiss.

Yesterday I was on a biking and hiking trail that runs along the top of a levee through our town. The trail is surfaced and wider than most city sidewalks. Three people were coming toward me. Two normal sized ladies and a 6 foot man. Both ways. He was so fat he wobbled side to side with each step. They were walking side by side and took up the whole walk. When they were a few steps away, it became apparent no one was going to give way. I had to step off into the weeds so the huff & puff party could go by. For some reason this enraged me to no end. Thirty years ago, even twenty years ago, I would have stopped and stood my ground. And that's the one thing about getting old that pi$$es me off. That I best not take a poke at anyone.

Some people do that here on the boardwalk also Hoppy. They walk 5 people across and will not move to let you pass. We've had some pretty bad fights between people where the cops were called.

We have a bikepath/walkway here too. What irritates me is people who walk their dogs on it and let the dog wander from side to side. I always worry that the dog isn't friendly and if I try and pass, will it charge me.
