Yes AP, summer is slow to arrive, but it's right around the corner. It's hard to believe almost half the year is gone already.

Polishing me ski boots, as I speak... nar.. not really. At least another month till there's anything here to ski on. But I like this time of year. The cold nights, sunny days, smell of woodsmoke. ... smell of coffffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

yeah the farm's going well, just bought a truck load of fertilizer today, gonna start plowing the tobacco for the first time tomorrow.

The price of fertilizer i can think would be costly now days also. How long is it to grow tobacco from start untill you pick it. Glad to hear Jacob is ok. :-6

a 40 pound bag that was 8 dollars last year is 14 dollares this year!:(

it took a ton of it to put in before we planted and now we're putting in another 1,500 pds.

we plant in May, it is as tall as your head by July and we are through harvesting by October usually, so maybe 5 months.

Wow big bucks! Sure must grow fast, Around here they say if the corn is knee high by the 4th of July it's a good year. I can't see that happening this year.

yeah the tobacco is usually almost as high as my head by the 4th of july!:wah:

and we've had plenty of rain so far so it should do really well, unless it turns off dry all of a sudden!

We've had so much rain that the farmers are behind schedule plowing their fields. Their worried, big time, that when they do get plowed and planted if they will actually get anything to harvest. Feed prices have skyrocketed so they depend on their crops to feed their animals. Farmings a tuff job and long hours.

well we've been in a drought for about 2 years now so this rain has been a welcome thing, and it has fallen at just the right time for us too! i said someone is watching out for us i believe!:wah:
