So many words have been bastardised by their misuse & Political Correctness. The term Spastic was always a perfectly valid word, until it started to be used derogatively & the term vanished into oblivion. The word 'Gay' just used to mean 'Happy'. How long is it going to be before it is not going to be PC to use the term 'Black' any more - if it hasn't reached that stage already. What about the famous Robertsons Golli***s? How many Black people have you encountered who were ever genuinely offended by it?

Personally I find Political Correctness offensive & it should be banned accordingly.

Is this fined before a magistrate, or would you like a fixed term jail sentence attached to it?

The true voice of the brexiter: "I find Political Correctness offensive and it should be banned accordingly." (my bold)

Accordingly? Are you using that word correctly? Are you really saying that because you find it offensive it should be banned? You realise you are saying the reason something should be banned is because you don't like it and that applies to any issue, not just political correctness?

Incidentally, basic manners are an example of political correctness. So if I were to call you a f*****t m***n you couldn't complain about my rudeness, merely argue whether I'm right or not.

What I was actually popping in to say is that the Queen's Speech is a must watch this year. Most years you know the gist of what She's going to say and in a way this year is no different: A call for unity and Her happiness about Harry's engagement I can predict. I'll want to go over the detail carefully, though.

It's times like this Heads of State matter and I'm thankful we have Elizabeth at present. Whether you are pro or anti monarchy She is very good at Her job and there is no-one else I can think of as a candidate for Head of State who commands anything like the respect She does.

On another note. It seems that nearly half of Alabama Voters, including many Evangelical Christians prefer a child molesting pig to a man of moral and political integrity to represent them in the US Senate.

You do not.

I choose to take one day just smiling about something good that happened in politics in an otherwise frustrating and bummer year.

I know that the votes has already been challenged and a recount demanded. I know that the senate can hold off swearing in Senator Jones until all of the challenges, claims of voter fraud, recounts, etc. have been resolved.

But I choose to take today as an island in the rivers of cr** and just enjoy it.

Donald Trump trademarked a Ronald Reagan slogan and would like to stop other Republicans from using it

Rumour has it the Obamas have invites to Harry and Meghan's wedding next year but the Trumps don't.

Rumour also has it that Trump will open the new US Embassy in London in February. They'll have to fly him in on the quiet because if it's known he's coming the Met Police estimate 2,000,000 protesters of whom myself and a couple of friends will be 3.

Suggestions for slogans either to shout or to put on a banner would be appreciated.

Could someone have a word to old northern Kimmy boy? Im way too busy today for a nuclear missile strike

I wake up this morning, turn the news on and apparently the old boy is going to launch a missile "Strike" today.

Now i realise Kimmy likes to set off a few fire crackers on his birthday but a ..."Strike" . Its war of the worlds all over again.

How are news broadcasters allowed to scare the crap out of people.

It's a dreadful thing to have done. Eventually these criminals will steal a battle tank and crush entire streets instead of just a dozen or two victims. In January, six people died when a man drove a car into pedestrians on Bourke Street.

Afterwards, city authorities installed concrete blocks in various locations - including on Flinders Street - hoping to prevent vehicle-based attacks.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-42437315

I disagree with trying to erect protective screens around everyone, we shouldn't be changing our behavior. What we do need is effective preemptive policing to stop these incidents before they're attempted, and the only way to do that is with automated intelligence systems. If every paving slab had a compulsory police application continually analyzing and reporting what its microphone hears and who sets foot on it, there would be no crime at all. I'd be happy with that degree of monitoring.

"We don't at this time have any evidence or any intelligence to indicate there's a connection with terrorism," he said.

However, he said they would continue to work with the Counter-terrorism Command to ensure there was no connection and ongoing threat.

A second man, 24, was seen filming the incident and was found to be carrying a bag with knifes in it.

He was also arrested, but police believe he had no links to the incident. He is still assisting police with their inquiries.

Police say offender had minor criminal history

* There was one sole person in the car and that was the offender who is in custody.

* A second person had a bag with three knives and at this stage Vic police do not believe he was connected with the incident

* The driver is 32 years of age and had minor interactions with Vic police in the past

* Police confirm they are investigating impairment in relation to the offenders driving and are still following through with those.

* Police only became aware of this male as a result of his conduct in driving and running down the pedestrians

* The car was not stolen but registered to a family member.

* Police say it is not apt to describe it as a ‘lone wolf’ incident.

Melbourne incident: Flinders Street driver had history of drug use, mental illness - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Why are they mentioning he has a mental illness? BTW Spot, the arsehole who did the Bourke street incident pleaded not guilty. Probably on the grounds of mental illness.
