It may be just a game - but some of us are competative which is fine - that in itself can be fun for us.

BUT

It stops being a game and stops being fun for us when we've spent hours trying our hardest to do our best and the rules change...

I'm not up on the politics on this site at all - I just play the games but it just seems to me that there's something going on that isn't quite right

Thats all.....

Why do you think that? I dont understand what has changed? From the start G-Man has kept a running tally on our bonus's and posted them on this thread.

Its just a game, whether your competitve or not, claiming scullduggery may be afoot is bad show in my opinion. G-Man has worked damned hard on this hunt.

Your not the only team that worked HARD. We all had to work to find the answers and complete tasks.

Now everyone knows who they have to beat and they've got 5 days to do it in!

Plus how can you bonus someone for having the most prolific recruit when there's still 5 days to go?

When you added the bonus a couple of my friends said they'd get back on and post but I told them they had till Fri?

And you will have to wait - out of my 30 (now that everyone knows) I know who 26 are but I only know about 18 of the usernames they picked - I'm going to have to try and find them all out.

I thought you could just check 'referrals'?

flopstock;1028434 wrote: So what you are really NOT saying is that you have ways to KNOW if it happened........... and it'll be bad news for folks that don't withdraw fake members from their lists before submitting them?

Yes. I'm giving everyone an opportunity to come clean, essentially. Plus, it violates the rules of the forum outside of cheating in this game and that's not fair to anyone. If you have fake accounts, they WILL be traced.

Should they perhaps submit an email with a list asking for the duplicate accounts to be deleted.. send that to you dear?:-3

That will be acceptable.

kayleneaussie;1028444 wrote: yea real popular i am kaz...i recruited 1 person :-1 wonder if my son would count...pity he joined before the official start :(

I noticed that... I'll accept that.

There was a bonus for early submissions... at some point, it becomes essentially impossible to catch up with the leaders, hence... an early decision. Should anything change, adjustments will be made. There's also a lot here to sort through, so just wanting to stay on top of it, also.

This is a game and the primary intent is for it to be fun. I certainly hope that there isn't anyone here who isn't having fun.

It was always a game and yes, everyone has had fun doing the work. That's the point. I would agree that some of you have been competative...it went to your heads. This isn't an Ego game. It's just a game.

If it stopped being a game and you weren't having fun, what was the point of joining in the game? As far as throwing politics into this...what is your point?

Actually Chezzie - I should have quoted QS before I added that comment - it was a response to her comment about people stroking their ego - which I think was off colour.

I have hardly posted on this thread and I think is obvious that I didn't WANT people to know what I was doing. I was just having fun competing against myself and hopefully being of value to my team.

Along those lines I KNOW there has been things between people here - which I have NEVER taken part of so I don't appreciate people taking pot shots at me.

My appologies to G-Man - you have done a great job - but I did get frustrated when your original rules stated

"Once an individual or team submits the answers they are finished".

so we deliberately don't submit early, others do and get the points which is fair but then you mentioned that you were letting two of the teams change an answer.

Sorry if that offends you and anyone else on here but I'm one of those ppl who read the rules and follow them so it is frustrating and diminishes the fun.

That is my personal opinion - Everyone is entilted to their own but please note that I have just explained mine here and NOT knocked yours

My apologies for any frustration, but this is a trial period... we've had to make adjustments as we went along... some questions didn't work and adjustments were made... I did point out that early submissions would be given bonus points... but only if they were 100% correct... a few were... the adjustments that were made to the list were links that had become broken via their pm submission. They had to redo it, so that I could verify the link. If any other members have the same issue or similar, I'll allow them the opportunity to do the same. I'm trying to be as fair as possible with this and make it fun for everyone. I've also made certain that no member is left out... everyone who has participated has been considered and will be credited for their hard work.

Okay thanks, Midget40. :) Feel free to pm me with any further information.

We'll make necessary adjustments to the next scavenger hunt and see what input we can get to make it even better next year. After this is fully over, we'll have a discussion on how to improve this for the upcoming scavenger hunts.

Well, not in the eyes of the legal system... he's old enough to get into a pub and to drive. If he has his own car, he might even be able to pick you up for a date. Of course, he might be feeling insecure about being seen with an older woman and may want to seek out a dark bar on the outskirts of town away from all of his usual haunts or risk taunting. :p Now if you look like Demi Moore, then there should be no problem whatsoever, though. :D

With regards to my new referrals – I have been extremely upset the last couple of days over the implications that I have obtained these from duplicate accounts.

I put a lot of time & effort into that part of the Hunt because I knew it was something I could do.

Upon receiving some of my E-mail answers back today it has dawned on me WHY there may be some questions but it would have been appreciated if people would have actually asked me instead of not-so-veiled posts on an open board.

It has seriously put me off the site for a while and I would just leave and ignore it all except for the impact it may have on my team mates.

I originally recruited via E-mail. I had some signups.

Then I had a committee meeting at my house and four people there were people I had E-mailed – they kept forgetting at home so they stayed back and had a few drinks and joined up from here.

I then realised that getting people to sign up was easier in person so I hosted a FG dinner party with 11 friends - I provided the food and drinks – all they had to do was sign up, Alias already had so I got the other 10 that night.

Therefore they joined from my PC but I did NOT let them verify from my PC – I told them they had to do that from their home so if you want to check you will find the verifications all come from different computers.

Only seven of them actually verified – trust me if I'd done it all 10 of them would have.

If I'd wanted to create multiple accounts I would have done it from my work computer where I belong to a gigantic govt computer network – or I could tell you that I did but I don't believe I broke any rules so I'm not going to lie.

I still do not know all the names attributed to me.

The others I now know are:

Rottiegranma

Lladro

JackieRe

Tosca

Boadi

Micah

Baylisstic

MickDoohan

BarbaraAnn

The three who have joined but not verified (yet) are

Brownie

Jenna

Echo

I have a friend called Digby who joined from England on 15/10 but I don't know his Username.

That is 27 – I have no idea who the others were.

As I said earlier – I really don't care anymore, it's totally lost any meaning for me now but I think my teammates deserve what they should have got.

Well Done & Congratulations to whomever wins!

I never said you accused me of deleting you tags. I pointed out you had 2 already.

So id suggest you re-read my post.

The only time I addressed you was to point out you have two tags already.

Its not nasty deleting someones tags when they give you permission like I just did.

That's highly commendable that you thought to much of us to put forth that sort of effort for your teammates and for the forum. The best way to handle the handle the implications of wrong-doing is to simply explain to everyone else why it's not true.

You were asked initially and sent PM's to try and sort this out, but you must understand that you had quite a few more recruits than everyone else, first of all. The only suspicion arose on my part due to the fact that a large portion of those were from the same computer. Hence, why you were asked via PM to explain these. At that point, it was suspicion and you were given an opportunity to explain. I was hesitant about doing this in the first place, knowing how some members might try and cheat by creating multiple accounts. So it was something that was going to be checked. I want this game to be as fair as possible and give everyone an equal opportunity to win and enjoy playing.

I'll do my best to verify these, but you must understand that other players are going to cry foul and why they might feel that way, okay? I'll make certain that all the members that verified from another computer are credited, though. If they actually post that's even better. The primary purpose of doing this was to help promote the forum by introducing new members. So any new members joining in and participating will look better for you.

Well Done & Congratulations to whomever wins!

I certainly don't see why there needs to be any hard feelings... this is supposed to be a fun event. I would hope that this would not soil all of the fun that the majority of members seemed to have and that it won't inhibit other members from starting their own contests. I've stated previously, that this was a trial and that changes may be made along the way, as this is a relatively new event. Even if it ends up in total failure (which I don't believe it was), at least we'll glean knowledge in order to make it better next time.

On a related side note: Please don't make unfounded accusations via post or via tags. I've adjusted the tags to do what they are intended to do and am going to go ahead and give everyone credit for that portion of the scavenger hunt. Moving forward, please don't abuse the tags, okay? Thanks.

I encourage members who try and get along and/or help out other teams/members... generosity is strongly encouraged and will likely be rewarded after this is over. A big part of this was intended to bring some of that out, the comradery, teamwork (not just among teams, but individuals), and generosity. A lot of money is involved in this casino hunt... an unprecedented amount on this forum. I'm very curious to see what happens with all these winnings and members becoming closer and meeting new friends... that sort of thing. :-6

Anyway, best of luck to everyone! There are three days left.
