It's an awesome picture, Gill !!!!! Great bridge and stone wall, and the soft colours. Makes me long to put on my backpack and start hiking.

Hello everybody ! Hi MrsK and Carol, hope you all have a restful Sunday :-6

This is a view looking south from Lloret de Mar, Costa Brava - beyond the promontary is the hotel Rigat Park Hotel (presumably still there) about a mile out of Lloret. At the time I visited (late 50s) this hotel had it's own private beach ! It was still under construction - the ballroom was still being completed ! It was going to be a 4 or 5 star hotel when we had our 14 days holiday there, travelling with Flair Tours, it was a beautiful place and as a young teenager, still at school, I thought it was sheer magic! I remember absolutely adoring one of the waiters (the first stirrings of 'love') from afar ! Obviously he looked upon me as still a child ( I was heartbroken to leave at the end of the holiday !).

I have never been back to Lloret since then, but I have seen film and still photos of it as it is today and it is totally ruined for me. Gone is the gentle little spanish town with it's delightful narrow dusty streets. The skysrcaper hotels all along the frontage dominating the now overcrowded bay just so disappoint me. While we were holidaying there all those years ago, there were signs of things to come with two new hotels under construction. I could never go back there again, not now, I just like to remember that lovely place as it used to be.

Well we have been invited to my daughters for a lovely roast chicken dinner today. That was after she came to my house to collect the Chicken from the fridge of course:wah: I bought her a really nice new tablecloth and napkins from Tenerife and i think she wants to show them off. They do beautiful table linen over there.

Hope you guys are all ok and didnt stay up too late last night;)
