Sorry neither of these impress me.

The Chambers Brothers is the first time of hearing it, it has no history, it would be better with a bit of stimulant to enhance the experience, I am stone cold sober and past my best.

Shout to most Brits is a Lulu classic from way back, the Isley Brothers didn't get a look in over here with that particular song, but because I recognise the song that will be my reluctant choice this time.

Isley Brothers Shout

It is a timeless classic, so simple in its lyric and melody, pure brilliance.

Wonderful Tonight

Another of his classically simple songs.....Tears in Heaven....genius

Of course, that is what is so embarrassing, they are rated as somebodies favourites, I apologise to whoever it was.

Well, I listen and vote for the one that most makes me wanna get up and dance.

If neither of them does that, then I vote for the one that is least annoying.

I wouldn't worry about that. I know that I just listed 10 that came to mind right off the top of my head. There are so many. within hours of posting my list, I heard at least half a dozen more that I thought should have been on the list.

I'd wager that I wasn't the only one.

Meanwhile, the votes are getting thin.

There is a US UK division on choices, for instance 'Shout' is instantly recognisable over here as a Lulu classic, I don't know if Lulu got to the US or not, but the Isley brothers although well known over here never as far as I can remember had any success with that song.

But apart from that, music is very personal, what touched me at a certain time in my life might never have rippled the world of music and visa versa.

I failed to note this was about 'Rock' , I doubt much of my choice would fit that bracket, and others choices fail that.................Im not complaining.

They are all doing more interesting things I suspect.

Yes, some songs are very personal. I can remember where I was the first time I heard some of them.

And I suppose, with summer setting in, a lot of folks have better things to do than hang out here.

I will be on holiday starting Wednesday for about three weeks, wandering the the New England coastline.

Probably won't hear much from me then.

That's very true. My ten just came into my head and I knew I could interchange them with a hundred others. I've got a feeling that when the winner is announced, most of us will be very bemused by the result. Except of course the one who picked it in the first place ....lol

I'm still amazed that Pink Floyd is completely absent from all of the lists. If asked today, my list of 10 would probably be quite different and would be different on any given day, to some extent.

I think that, once we've picked a top one from this list, we should all offer up another ten each, and do it gain.
