It is really tough as my eldest son lives 3,000 miles away and I've always taken the time for him whenever he needs me through some really bad times....

and those times...I just want to hug him.:(

I didn't sleep well last night. My thoughts were filled with images of my younger son. So far away........and troubled. I found this prayer today. I changed a few words.

A mother's prayer; a prayer from despair, for love and out of trust and faith in the Lord.

God

My heart is aching and I need your strength

I pray that You will fill my heart with love and courage and strength; I pray that you will let me feel your presence in this dark time.

I pray that my son will feel how much love surrounds him

I feel boundless love for him. I think of him as a little boy who sat on my lap, and my heart breaks to see him as he has become. I love him so much, and I know that You love him more than I ever can.

Please, let him feel this love.

Please let him use this love to break free from habits that harm him.

Please show both of us the path we must walk.

Amen

We will for always remember our grown children as the innocent laughing souls they were, and it hurts us deeply when we see them in pain. Pray for love; pray that they feel God's love.

Sometimes, all you can do is pray.

We seem to be getting alot of windy and rainy days here lately. ;)

"March bustles in on windy feet

And sweeps my doorstep and my street.

She washes and cleans with pounding rains,

Scrubbing the earth of winter stains.

She shakes the grime from carpet green

Till naught but fresh new blades are seen.

Then, house in order, all neat as a pin,

She ushers gentle springtime in."

Come Saturday morning

I'm goin' away with my friend

Well Saturday-spend 'til the end of the day-ay

Just I and my friend

We'll travel for miles in our Saturday smiles

And then we'll move on

But we will remember

Long after Saturday's gone

(Come Saturday morning)

(Come Saturday morn)

Come Saturday morning

I'm goin' away with my friend

Well Saturday-laugh more than half of the day

Just I and my friend (my friend)

Dressed up in our rings and our Saturday things

And then we'll move on

But we will remember

Long after Saturday's gone

(Come Saturday morning)

(Come Saturday morn)

Just I and my friend

We'll travel for miles in our Saturday smiles

And then we'll move on

But we will remember

Long after Saturday's gone

(Come Saturday morning)

(Come Saturday morn)

Here is the song itself. Enjoy!

My horoscope for today:

March 07, 2010

Leo (7/23-8/22)

Your friends have your back -- and not just when you ask for it. They're willing to take your side even before you ask. That's a good feeling, and you'll have a chance to enjoy it now, especially once the bunch of you start rehashing the whole experience from start to finish. Don't let them think for one second you take them for granted. Show them your appreciation.

Thank you, friends, for visiting my thread! :):-6

From "Dear Abby" today:

Stay Out Of My Kitchen by Susan Sawyer

Please stay away from my kitchen

From my dishwashing, cooking and such;

You were kind to have offered to pitch in

But thanks, no, thank you so much!

Please don’t think me ungracious

When I ask that you leave me alone;

For my kitchen’s not any too spacious

And my routine is strictly my own.

Tell you what: You stay out of my kitchen

With its sodden, hot, lackluster lures —

When you’re here, stay out of my kitchen

And I promise to stay out of yours!

This was a top story in our local news yesterday:

Police on Lookout for Stolen Chicken Legs

By Tuquyen Mach | Reporter

Published: March 9, 2010

Updated: March 9, 2010

SAVANNAH, Ga.—Authorities are investigating the theft of hundreds of cases of chicken from West Chatham.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police detectives said more than 800 cases of Tyson Chicken Leg Quarters were stolen over the weekend from a truck company.

Police said the thieves may be selling the chicken door-to-door, and they’re urging folks to be wary of chicken being offered at a supposed discount because of a possible health risk.

Authorities said the chicken could be dangerous if not properly handled or refrigerated.

Coincidently, while Hubby and were eating our supper last evening, there was a knock on our door. A lady standing on the porch was selling meat. I glanced to the side and saw the front of a white van or truck and I did notice the word "shrimp" along with other words on it. I said we weren't interested, but she said, "Are you sure.....even if it's 'dirt cheap'?" I said no thank you, closed the door, and she left. Suspicious incident or just coincidence ?

Odie, he was listening to his I-pod with the earphones on and probably had his back to the oncoming plane. So sad.

I googled "old Irish poems" and found this:

ONE FINAL GIFT

Scatter me not to the restless winds

Nor toss my ashes to the sea.

Remember now those years gone by

When loving gifts I gave to thee.

Remember now the happy times

The family ties are shared.

Don't leave my resting place unmarked

As though you never cared.

Deny me not one final gift

For all who came to see.

A simple lasting proof that says

I loved and you loved me.

Ever have a sad moment inside your car?

YouTube - David Nail - Red Light

I have. Years ago, my boyfriend at the time suddenly broke up with me.......at the drive-in. The movie was "The Sterile Cuckoo". Obviously, I got over it, but it was painful at the time.

There have been a few times I have driven my car with tears rolling down my face. Not recently. But I will never forget those moments.

"Half Acre"

There was a commercial on TV this morning that played a snippet of this song. It was a commercial about passing on kindness to others. I think this song is about memories and hope.

I am holding half an acre

torn from the map of Michigan

and folded in this scrap of paper

is a land I grew in

Think of every town you've lived in

every room you lay your head

and what is it that you remember?

Do you carry every sadness with you

every hour your heart was broken

every night the fear and darkness

lay down with you

A man is walking on the highway

A woman stares out at the sea

and light is only now just breaking

So we carry every sadness with us

every hour our hearts were broken

every night the fear and darkness

lay down with us

But I am holding half an acre

torn from the map of Michigan

I am carrying this scrap of paper

that can crack the darkest sky wide open

every burden taken from me

every night my heart unfolding

my home

COWBOY LOVE

If you’ve ever been loved by a cowboy,

You’ll know what I say is true;

They know how to love a woman,

And you thank your stars that it’s you.

It’s not in the fancy talkin’

Or tryin’ like heck to impress.

It’s in the deep, honest carin’

That makes these men of the west.

They learn from the world around them,

That life is precious to hold.

See how they carry the lost calf,

Until it’s back home in the fold?

They know the hand of our Maker

In the work that they do everyday.

They protect the herd from danger,

And keep them from gettin’ away.

They see the glory of sunrise,

Work hard to make things right.

When they tuck back into the bunkhouse

It’s usually the dark of the night.

In their powerful hands there is healin’.

Rough and scarred, you can see,

But when they gently touch you

You know what tender can be.

For the hands that punch the cattle,

And break a cayuse just right,

Can brand a calf in the daytime

And deliver a foal in the night.

They stroke and comfort the skiddish

They guide and lead the lame,

They work to heal the wounded

And treat the sickly humane.

There may be some maverick cowboys

That can’t keep their word to be true,

But there aren’t very many bad ones

Believe me their numbers are few.

Most stretch the truth in their “tall tales

And fib to put on a good show,

But you’ll rarely catch one lyin’

It’s a matter of honor, you know.

When you put all these things together

You see it’s a gift, plain as day.

God gave us these fine, good men

To keep us from runnin’ astray.

To be held in the heart of a cowboy,

To hear him call you “m’am

To snuggle in his big, strong arms

And be his “darlin’ lamb

Can make you more a woman

Than you could ever guess,

For when you’re loved by a cowboy,

Well..........girl

You’re loved by the very best!
