I do agree. His performances as an artist never matched his outstanding songwriting abilities. Lay Lady Lay, however, works very well for me

This particular performance in that particular voice stunk. He kept the audience waiting, waiting, waiting for hours. He was the last act, the main act. And the voice he used for that album---he's a maniac! It was after his car accident in Woodstock NY & he claimed that event caused the change. As I recall..............
