not fluently. I took French and learned some Japanese. A few Spanish phrases are mandatory in today's world. unfortunately, they all get jumbled in my feable brain.

Japanese is what I remember most because I've had the most practice with.

Don't tell anyone, but this gig with the Red Cross has me tearing up several times a day. Not there, but when I write the journal or see a sappy commercial, etc.

Initially, yes. Southerners are more trusting of strangers, in my experience, more open and quicker to offer aid.

Once you get past the defenses, however, northerners are ferociously good friends. I owe my marriage to a friend from Rhode Island.

1. My study bible, because I may as well learn something while I'm there.

2. The latest Harry Potter book, because I haven't read it yet and the kid is getting old enough to be interesting.
